Nigella causes unprecedented sales of semolina

Nigella

Nigella’s Christmas recipe for roast potatoes with semolina has caused sales of the pudding ingredient to sky rocket.

After Nigella revealed that she sprinkled semolina on potatoes before roasting them in goose fat, supermarkets have seen it flying off their shelves.

An Asda spokesman told The Mirror, “There was a further 65% increase in the immediate run-up to Christmas. Read more & comment »

Christmas battle of the TV chefs – Nigella Lawson vs Jamie Oliver

nigellachristmas

Last night I watched the double helping of Nigella’s Christmas Kitchen followed by Jamie Cooks Christmas and I have to say, I believe Nigella won in terms of content and general Christmassy enthusiasm. By the end of her shows, I was convinced that even a culinarily challenged cook like myself could knock out a passable turkey on the big day.

Nigella waxed lyrical and lovingly about her recipes, often appearing tousled and dressed in a silky dressing gown to simulate those Christmas Day early morning dashes into the kitchen between gifts to do obscene things to turkey.

Are you intimidated by celeb chefs at Christmas?

nigellachristmas

Now, I don’t know about you but all the TV celeb chefs put me under pressure at Christmas. I feel I should produce fabulous food and I try, I really do, but it just doesn’t happen.

For instance, in the past I’ve tried making the weird and wonderful stuffing recipes that chefs like Jamie Oliver and Nigella Lawson say are very quick and easy to make… well, they aren’t. Mine ended up tasting how I imagine the lining of a sandal would.

Nigella Lawson returns to BBC Two this December with a special week of programmes to help viewers cook up the perfect Christmas. Here, she tells Programme Information about the new programmes, about her own perfect Christmas, and the not-so-perfect one, which saw her walking down the street, in her pyjamas, holding a turkey in an oven tray.

Tell us about the Christmas programmes.

“They’re all about setting the scene for Christmas, getting in the mood, ushering in the season. I love the Big Day itself, but there are so many suppers and lunches, friends and family to feed, in the run up as well, and I want to make that as enjoyable for myself as for everyone coming.”

Nigella Lawson Calls Journalists “Dingbats”

Celebrity chef, Nigella Lawson has branded newspaper reporters “dingbats” after claims that she deceived viewers of her BBC Two show.

The Daily Mail revealed last year that parts of her show were not shot at her home in London’s Eaton Square as implied.

Speaking to the Radio Times, Lawson said: “There are two very different things. There’s deceit, and there’s artifice or illusion – like when you go to the theatre.

Isn’t Nigella Lawson The Worst Mum EVER??

Well maybe she isn’t the worst mum ever, but I’m sure Nigella Lawson’s kids weren’t too happy when they were told they had to give all their Christmas presents to charity!

The celebrity chef told Red that Mimi, 14, and Bruno, 12, were only allowed to chose one gift to keep.

She said: “I don’t want to turn Christmas into a thing about shopping. One year, I was incredibly nasty and strict, and made the children choose a present that they wanted to keep and take the rest to Great Ormond Street. I wanted them to think about how lucky they are.”

Delia Smith Not Happy With Gordon Ramsay’s Swearing

Delia Smith

In a recent interview with The Radio Times magazine, queen of the kitchen, Delia Smith spilt the beans on what she realy thinks of her fellow celebrity chefs.

She revealed that she doesn’t entirely approve of Gordon Brown’s frequent bad language, saying “That’s not teaching. I like him when he does his recipes, but I’m not keen on his swearing.”

But Smith had only good things to say about Nigella Lawson and Jamie Oliver:

“Jamie is brilliant and has done more than anyone. I enjoy Nigella – she has such a passion for food. Read more & comment »

Fans Complain About Nigella Lawson’s Wait Gain

Fans of cookery goddess Nigella Lawson have been complaining about the chefs weight gain during her new series, Nigella Express.

Fans have been visiting the BBC’s Points of View website to complain about Lawsons expanding hips and calorific recipes.

One poster is quoted in the Daily Mail as writing: “There’s no beating about the bush – she’s a porker. And no wonder, when she was shovelling those candies down her neck the other night – before she got to her destination for dinner. What sort of an example is she with her weight and her appetite for high-calorie sweets and cream?”

I have come to the conclusion that some people haven’t got enough going on in their lives. People will complain to the high heaven about size zero models, and yet when a truly beautiful woman like Nigella Lawson puts on a few pounds they are up in arms. Get a life people, worry about your own weight and leave healthy, attractive women like Nigella Lawson alone.
