Bob Woolmer was poisoned before his murder, reveals BBC One Panorama investigation
Pakistan cricket coach Bob Woolmer was poisoned before being strangled, BBC One’s Panorama reveals tonight.
The programme reveals that preliminary toxicology tests have shown there was a drug in his system that would have incapacitated Woolmer, leaving him unable to fight back.
It now seems certain that, as he was being strangled, he had already been rendered helpless. Read more & comment »

Viewers of one of Britain’s best-loved breakfast TV shows have been fleeced out of millions of pounds, BBC One’s Panorama programme will reveal tonight. (Monday 23 April)
Millions of callers to GMTV were encouraged, over a four-year period, to enter premium-rate phone competitions when they could not win, in what could be TV’s dirtiest secret.
The fraud – which happened at the programme’s phone-operator Opera Interactive Technology – could have amounted to an estimated £45,000 a day. Or £10 million a year.
GMTV insists it was not aware of the scandal – but last night angry viewers warned that their trust in the programme had been destroyed.
