Things for Billy Mitchell seem to have been looking up of late, what with his old job back with Janine and his fledgling romance with Ava Hartman…
However, this week, it looks like things are over between Billy (Perry Fenwick) and Ava (Claire Perkins) before they’ve really even begun when she can’t deny that she still has feelings for her ex, Sam (Cornell S John)…
The drama begins on Monday, May 20 when, following a run in with Sam in the café, Dexter (Khali Best) informs Ava that Sam’s still in Walford. Ava later tells Sam to leave, but he’s determined to stay until he’s made amends with his son. Unbeknownst to Ava, Billy has witnessed her altercation with Sam, and he then learns from Tanya (Jo Joyner) that Sam is Ava’s ex-husband and Dexter’s father. Read more & comment »

EastEnders star Perry Fenwick has revealed to the Sun’s TV Biz that he’d love his character to reunite with his estranged wife Honey…
As fans of the show will recall, Honey (Emma Barton) left Billy and the Square in 2008, taking their children, William and Janet with her. Since then, Billy’s had only infrequent contact with his kids.
Of his wish that Billy and Honey would get back together, Perry said, “I know what Billy would like. He still wears his wedding ring.
“He wants Honey back and his kids. Billy’s a very simple man. He’s a bit wet but he’s a nice guy.”
And of course, prior to the breakdown of his marriage to Honey, Billy also suffered heartache when his first wife Little Mo Slater (Kacey Ainsworth) – who he married on Christmas Day in 2002 – left him after she became pregnant when she was raped by evil Graham Foster (Alex McSweeney)… Read more & comment »

Last night was of course the big live segment episode of EastEnders, which saw Perry Fenwick as Billy Mitchell running through the Square with the Olympic torch, and Danielle Harold as Lola giving birth to her baby girl, who she’s to name Lexi Billie.
Now, I have to confess to having a touch of the Madame Guillotine about me when it comes to live episodes of our soaps, so it was with anticipation of what might go wrong that I eagerly awaited the live bits…
And sadly, not a lot did go wrong, but there were a couple of gaffes. For instance, Perry had a wedding ring on, which if I’m right, Billy doesn’t. I could be wrong about that one though.
Also, Jamie Borthwick, who plays Jay, could be seen desperately trying to stifle the giggles in the scenes where Danielle was push shoving and heaving Lola’s baby into the world… Read more & comment »

Tonight is the night for EastEnders character, Billy Mitchell, as he is set to relay the Olympic Torch through the fictional borough of Walford and according to Perry Fenwick, who plays the spineless Mitchell in the award-winning BBC soap, he has trained so hard for the episode he thinks he could probably compete in the games now too!
According to the Sun newspaper, the 50-year-old actor says that he has put so much into his training for the once-in-a-lifetime event that if he should fall flat on his face during the live relay in tonight’s episode, it won’t be from lack of practice!

As fans of EastEnders will most likely know, Billy Mitchell has been chosen to run with the Olympic Torch through Walford, but of course, nothing ever, but ever, goes right for Billy and this big event will be no different…

And it promises to be a star studded Red Button special, with appearances from comedian Omid Djalili as “cheeky cab driver Hercules” and sporting super heroes Dame Kelly Holmes and Tessa Sanderson.
Also starring in the bonus footage are Matt Baker and Alex Jones who are set to help hapless Billy make it to Wembley with the torch.
Of the run, Perry said, “Like Billy, I am also terrified at what might go wrong as I carry the Olympic torch though Albert Square…” Read more & comment »

Last night saw the 13th annual British Soap Awards, and all the stars braved the wind and rain to take their seats for the spectacular event, held at the ITV studios in London, where UnrealityTV were on the red carpet to speak to them all before the ceremony started.

The EastEnders cast were surprisingly sparse when it came to the red carpet event, especially when compared to the huge Emmerdale crew that showed up en masse, but we managed to catch up with some of the Walford residents to clear up some old rumours and get some new gossip!

EastEnders star Perry Fenwick – who of course plays the hapless Billy Mitchell – has told Inside Soap magazine that his young co-star Danielle Harold is every bit as “cheeky” in real life as her screen alter ego, Lola Pearce.
Lola is of course Billy’s granddaughter, and Danielle – who recently revealed she’d starred in Jamie’s Dream School – has been in the role since last year.
Perry – who was previously married to former Corrie star Angela Lonsdale – said of Danielle, “She can be a cheeky little so-and-so, can Dan.
“One of the cameramen was talking to me about my role in Mona Lisa (the 1986 film) the other day, and Danielle piped up, ‘Was that in black and white?’.”
However, Perry, who’s also starred in Inspector Morse, The Brittas Empire, Minder and The Thin Blue Line, added that he loves working with Danielle, whose character is currently pregnant… Read more & comment »

Things rarely go well for poor old Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) and according to the Daily Star, a forthcoming storyline looks like it’ll end badly when Billy punches a “conman” in the Vic…
The story begins when Billy calls on the help of his former social worker, Henry Mason (Brian Hibbard) to help him track down the son his girlfriend Julie Perkins (Cathy Murphy) put up for adoption.
However, when Henry soon makes it clear he’s only interested in conning poor Billy, the underdog Mitchell lamps him one, and he’s still no nearer to finding his son but he has at that point discovered he’s got a granddaughter called Lola.
But there’s good news later for Billy when Lola turns up on the Square.
We’ll get to see that plotline unfold in coming weeks. Read more & comment »
