EastEnders star Polly Perkins praises older women plotlines, and Zainab fears Yusef’s legacy is cursed!
News from Walford way today begins with actress Polly Perkins, who’s praised EastEnders’ bosses for writing in such prolific storylines for older women.
Polly – who’s also starred in The Sweeney, Eldorado and Minder – of course plays Rose Cotton, and while speaking to Inside Soap, she said, “It’s about time there were more older women on television.
“These people do have a life and it’s not represented terribly often. I think it’s really brilliant that EastEnders is bucking the trend with Rose, Dot and Cora.
“There’s no way any of them think they’ll end up with a Zimmer frame.
“They all think they’re going to live forever!”
Polly went on to reveal that she gets lots of fan mail from people who reckon Rose reminds them of their own granny!
Of that, she said, “Can you imagine all these grandmas walking around looking like Rose?
“Mind you, I do know a few of them myself. Rose is totally deluded, in fact, she thinks she’s still 37!” Read more & comment »
