At the height of his fame, the later TV presenter and DJ Sir Jimmy Savile was of course the darling of society, given that he was seemingly a benevolent, tireless supporter of charity who raised millions…

But of course, that perception has now been tarnished amid hundreds of allegations that he was a predatory paedophile who used his fame to cover up his sexual proclivities.

And in today’s Daily Star, a Buckingham Palace insider has claimed that Prince Charles – who spent a good deal of time with Savile during the seventies and eighties at various charitable functions – is furious that he was never informed about suspicions that Savile was a pervert who preyed on children.

The paper adds, “Former royal aide Dickie Arbiter revealed Savile would ‘curl out’ his bottom lip and ‘run it up’ the bare arms of young women in the palace typing pool.” Read more & comment »

Now, I tried to think of a witty play on words for the title of this article, such as Prince predicts fresh heir, or Prince says it’s going to reign, however, they were so lame I gave up on them…

But the gist of the story is that yesterday, during a visit to the BBC’s studios in Scotland, Prince Charles and his wife Camilla the Duchess of Cornwall tried their hand at being meteorologists in order to present a special version of the weather report.

After reading the BBC Scotland news, presenter Sally Magnusson handed over to the Prince who read the weather report from a “specially-scripted forecast” that predicted what the weather’s like over the Royal residences.
