June 11th schedule changes for Coronation Street, Emmerdale and EastEnders – UPDATED

With our Best of British bulging summer almost upon us (well, the sun was out yesterday) a few changes to our regular viewing schedule was inevitable.

There is nothing worse than sitting down to watch your favourite soap only to find that a schedule change you weren’t aware of has engulfed your television screens, normally involving 22 men and a ball, so we thought we would give you the heads up as to how to plan your evenings now the football  fever has taken  hold of our great country!

Phillip Schofield and Julie Etchingham will head up Diamond Jubilee coverage for ITV

ITV have pulled out the big guns for their coverage of the forthcoming Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations, with veteran presenters Phillip Schofield and Julie Etchingham reportedly heading up their team of commentators.

Phil and Julie – who I’d quite like to call Phulie just because I want to and can – are of course a proven team, given that they presented coverage of the Royal Wedding last year.

For the Jubilee hoedown, they’ll be on air on June 5th for a marathon seven-and-a-half-hour show, live from a studio outside the gates of Buckingham palace.

Meanwhile, newsreaders Natasha Kaplinsky, Alastair Stewart, Mary Nightingale, Mark Austin and Nina Hossain will commentate on a procession that will head out from the palace to St Paul’s Cathedral… Read more & comment »
