Former Coronation Street star, Richard Fleeshman is to hone his song writing skills with the legend that is Elton John next month.

Richard, who won ITV1’s Soapstar Superstar in 2006 told The Mirror: “Me and Elton are going to be writing some songs together this month. It’s really nice of him and we’re just going to see what happens.

Sarah Lancashire, Neil Pearson, Sarah Alexander and Richard Fleeshman have been confirmed to star in The Choir Project , a new drama series for BBC One.

In an unremarkable town in the north of England, the sparky but self-effacing Esther (Sarah Lancashire) sings her heart out in the local choir – a disparate collective whose enthusiasm far outweighs its musical ability, and which is conducted by her husband, the charismatic and inspiring Michael (Neil Pearson).
