Ricky Gervais intimidated by Hollywood stars

Ricky Gervais has admitted that despite his recent success, he would still be intimidated about working with many Hollywood stars.

“There are people that I want to work with but I’m too intimidated, there are a few people that I’d be worried about working with, the greats – Jack Nicholson, Scorsese and Clint Eastwood,” said Gervais at the gala screening of his new film, The Invention Of Lying, at Bafta in London.

Ricky Gervais doesn’t want children

Ricky Gervais may have been dating his partner for 27 years, but you won’t be hearing the pitter patter of tiny feet any time soon.

The ‘Office’ star has revealed that he and girlfriend Jane Fallon, agreed that they would never have children back in their early student days.

“We never wanted to be parents, with all that entails: the loss of freedom, total dependency,” he told Red magazine.

Ricky Gervais Says Class Is More Important Than Race Or Sex

TV funnyman Ricky Gervais has claimed that the issue of class is more important than either race or sex.

Gervais grew up on a working class council estate and told The Daily Telegraph that he doesn’t remember having any middle class teachers at any of his schools.

Gervais said: “I think class is more significant than race or sex. To this day, in a room full of overprivileged Oxbridge graduates I feel them giving me a sideways look.

Ricky Gervais Says “No More Extras!”

Ricky Gervais has told Graham Norton that he and Stephen Merchant will not be making any future series of Extras.

Ricky was appearing on Nortons risque chat show when the question was posed and he described the temptation to do another series, telling Graham that many A List stars have since said that they would be happy to cameo on any future episodes.

Ricky Gervais Says Jonathan Ross Is Devastated!

Comedian Ricky Gervias has said that his pal Jonathan Ross is devastated over the recent answerphone scandal involving him and Russell Brand, but is sure that he will bounce back.

In an interview to mark Comedians Week in The Sun, 47-year-old Ricky says: “It did go too far, yes. Jonathan was devastated. I’ve spoken to him a few times and he knows he was in the wrong.
“The whole thing got blown out of proportion. Obviously what they did was wrong. It wasn’t very funny.

Ricky Gervais Says Beckhams Will NOT Be On Extras

Ricky Gervais has confirmed that The Beckhams will not be appearing in any new episodes of his hit comedy TV show, Extras.

The comedian claimed that because Sacha Baron Cohen has already worked with them during an Ali G sketch for Comic Relief he wouldn’t want to use them also.

“The Beckhams would be huge and we could do loads with them but I think Ali G got in first,” he told The Sun.

Ricky Gervais For Sesame Street

Office star, Ricky Gervais is said to be gearing up for an appearance on children’s TV favourite, Sesame Street.

Writing on his blog, the 47-year-old said: “I’ve been asked to do Sesame Street – there are some things you don’t turn down.”

Other stars who have appeared on the show include David Beckham, Jessica Alba, Robert De Niro and Alicia Keys who have all made an appearance on the show.

RICKY GERVAIS HOPES FOR TWO M*A*S*H TV HITS

Speaking to rottentomatoes.com Gervais revealed his upcoming feature film, The Man from the Pru, would spinoff into its own television series shortly after its debut. “We’re thinking of doing a TV spinoff,” Gervais said. “We’re doing it the M*A*S*H way round. It was originally just going to be a TV series – in fact it predates Extras.”

The Man from the Pru is first big-screen collaboration with Stephen Merchant, with whom he co-wrote The Office and Extras, is set in a 1970s Prudential building society.

After his hilarious Emmy speech last week, British comedian Ricky Gervais has become hotly tipped as host of this years Oscar ceremony.

‘Ricky caught the eye of the right people,’ said a source to The Sun.

‘They think he would be perfect to host the Oscars and want to sign him’.

The show was hosted last year by comedienne, Elle DeGeneres.

Ricky Gervais Wants Emmy Back From Steve Carrell!

Ricky Gervais has pleaded with Steve Carrell to return the Emmy he accepted on his behalf last year.

Gervais won the Best Actor award in 2007 but could not make the ceremony. Steve Carrell, who reprised Gervais’ role in the US remake of The Office picked up the award on his behalf.

Carell later revealed that he was holding the award hostage: “I’m not going to give it back to him. He wasn’t there to accept the Emmy. So what I figure is whoever is first up on stage should just take it.”

While presenting the award for Outstanding Directing for a Variety or Music Program at this year’s ceremony, Gervais begged Carrell to return his statue. Read more & comment »
