Office star, Ricky Gervais is said to be gearing up for an appearance on children’s TV favourite, Sesame Street.
Writing on his blog, the 47-year-old said: “I’ve been asked to do Sesame Street - there are some things you don’t turn down.”
Other stars who have appeared on the show include David Beckham, Jessica Alba, Robert De Niro and Alicia Keys who have all made an appearance on the show.

Speaking to rottentomatoes.com Gervais revealed his upcoming feature film, The Man from the Pru, would spinoff into its own television series shortly after its debut. “We’re thinking of doing a TV spinoff,” Gervais said. “We’re doing it the M*A*S*H way round. It was originally just going to be a TV series - in fact it predates Extras.”
The Man from the Pru is first big-screen collaboration with Stephen Merchant, with whom he co-wrote The Office and Extras, is set in a 1970s Prudential building society.

Uh oh its war of the British comedians!!!! Simon Pegg has called Ricky Gervais an idiot and made a jibe about his weight, it’s only a matter of time before Gervais hits back.
Pegg was being interviewed by Jamie Theakston and Harriet Scott for London’s Heart 106.2 when he was asked if he, like Gervais, felt under pressure from the LA lifestyle.

After his hilarious Emmy speech last week, British comedian Ricky Gervais has become hotly tipped as host of this years Oscar ceremony.
‘Ricky caught the eye of the right people,’ said a source to The Sun.
‘They think he would be perfect to host the Oscars and want to sign him’.
The show was hosted last year by comedienne, Elle DeGeneres.

Ricky Gervais has pleaded with Steve Carrell to return the Emmy he accepted on his behalf last year.
Gervais won the Best Actor award in 2007 but could not make the ceremony. Steve Carrell, who reprised Gervais’ role in the US remake of The Office picked up the award on his behalf.
Carell later revealed that he was holding the award hostage: “I’m not going to give it back to him. He wasn’t there to accept the Emmy. So what I figure is whoever is first up on stage should just take it.”
While presenting the award for Outstanding Directing for a Variety or Music Program at this year’s ceremony, Gervais begged Carrell to return his statue. Read more & comment »

Comedian and TV star, Ricky gervais has revealed that he hates being famous and would like to be able to turn it off.
In an interview with The Telegraph, the comedian explained:
“The worst thing about this job for me is the fame,” he said. “I’ve never understood why anyone wants people to know who they are. That’s the thing I wish I could turn off.” Read more & comment »

British actor and comedian, Ricky Gervais has been nominated for a Golden Globe award in the Best Comedy Actor category.
Ricky was nominated based on his performances in the highly acclaimed Extras, which has also been nominated for an award in the Best Musical or Comedy TV Series category.

George will be seen cruising for sex in London while smoking a ‘dodgy’ cigarette and scoffing a kebab.

Ricky Gervais has really hit the big time in America! One of the biggest comic actors at the moment, Will Ferrel, has expressed an interest in appearing in an episode of Ricky’s hit show, Extras.
Ferrell, 39, says, “I love Ricky. He is amazing. He hasn’t approached me to do Extras - at least not that I know of.
“I would do it if he asked.”
