As you may know, former EastEnders star Dean Gaffney – who of course played Robbie Jackson on the show – was involved in a serious car crash at the weekend, during which he sustained what have been described as “serious head injuries.”

However, it’s been reported today that Dean, who underwent emergency surgery on his fractured skull, is making great progress and has even been sitting up and talking.

But it was also revealed that when Dean was first admitted to hospital, his girlfriend waited an agonizing three hours to find out if Dean would survive.

The accident happened on the A38 in Derby, and while no other vehicles were involved, Dean’s car crashed into the central reservation of the dual carriageway. Read more & comment »

However, The Sun today reports that Dean has revealed that he’s applied for a job with British intelligence service MI5, who of course exist to protect the UK against threats from terrorism and espionage.

He told the paper that he’d seen an ad online advertising the vacancy of Mobile Surveillance Officer with the secret service.

He said, “I’ve got an enquiring mind, so I thought I’d give it a go. I love spy films and the whole James Bond thing.

“MI5 put out an advert looking for people and I thought, ‘How hard can it be?’ Read more & comment »
