Channel 4 have commissioned The Road to Russell Brand: Skinned, an intimate and revealing documentary combining behind the scenes footage and stand up performance with an in-depth interview conducted by Frank Skinner.
In early 2009 Russell completed an international tour that featured dates in New York and Australia as well as a number of shows in the UK. The tour culminated with a sell out 17,000 people gig at the O2. During this period cameras were following Russell back stage and travelling.
Cabinet Minister Hazel Blears has suggested that Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross stump up the £150,000 fine which has been imposed on the BBC over their actions.
Regulator Ofcom imposed the fine for what it called the “gratuitously offensive, humiliating and demeaning” prank calls, broadcast last October on Brand’s Radio 2 show.
“I was quite surprised when I read about this, that Ofcom were fining the BBC.”

British comedian, Russell Brand, is rumoured to be releasing a single under the management of Britain’s Got Talent judge, Simon Cowell.
Russell is said to be releasing the ‘Chugga Chugga’ song which was written by his warm up performer, Joby Harte.
The Sun reports that Simon Cowell first heard the tune when it was played on Russell’s Radio 2 show last year and given that novelty singles are his speciality, he is hoping to make it into a hit.

Russell Brand is again at the centre of a controversy following his remarks after winning an award at the British Comedy Awards last night for Best Stand-Up Performance.
The Daily Star Sunday reports that Brand said the Manuelgate affair had made him “more popular than ever” and he dubbed Jonathan Ross a “kingmaker”.
The show’s host, presenter and comedian Angus Deayton, commented that the people who’d complained – some 50,000 of them – about Brand and Ross’s call to Andrew Sachs were, “self-righteous tw*ts”.
Comedian Ricky Gervias has said that his pal Jonathan Ross is devastated over the recent answerphone scandal involving him and Russell Brand, but is sure that he will bounce back.
In an interview to mark Comedians Week in The Sun, 47-year-old Ricky says: “It did go too far, yes. Jonathan was devastated. I’ve spoken to him a few times and he knows he was in the wrong.
“The whole thing got blown out of proportion. Obviously what they did was wrong. It wasn’t very funny.
Despite Jonathan Ross stepping down from presenting this years British Comedy Awards due to the Manuelgate scandal, bot he and fellow culprit, Russell Brand have been nominated for awards.
Ross is up for best comeedy entertainment programme for Friday Night with Jonathan Ross, while Brand has been nominated for best live standup performer.

It’s been reported today that an ‘effigy’ of both Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand will be burnt during a Bonfire night celebration in Kent at the weekend.
The flammable likenesses of Ross and Brand have been created by artist Frank Shepherd for the Edenbridge Bonfire Society’s annual Guy Fawkes night celebrations. Apparently, Brand will be on a lead which Ross will be holding.

It’s emerged today that Russell Brand has been approached to co-star in the fourth Pirates Of The Caribbean movie.
Brand would apparently play Jonathan – ironically enough, given it’s the name of his partner in crime over Manuelgate – who’s the younger brother of Johnny Depp’s character, Jack Sparrow.
The Sun reports that the deal could be worth around £5 million for Brand.
