Russell T. Davies has admitted that he is planning out the fourth series of scifi TV show Torchwood.
Though the BBC have not yet confirmed that they are commissioning a fourth season, Davies revealed that he hopes to get the thumbs up in January 2010.
“The recession has hit British television, but fingers crossed, it will be a go,” he told TV Guide. “We expect things to start to move in January.

We don’t meant to go on (and on and on) about it, but can we just say that you are in for a fantastic treat in two weeks time. How does this special compare to the others?
David: “It tells a different sort of story, I think, and it’s a long time into the episode before The Doctor takes control. That’s what’s unnerving about it, it’s not the standard structure. We expect The Doctor to take control earlier, we expect The Doctor to know how he’s going to do it and how he’s going to win through and he doesn’t. Even though he wins in the end it’s a bitter sweet victory. People die.”
Doctor Who’s The Water Of Mars airs in the UK in just two weeks times and in just under two months, David Tennant will hand the Doctor Who reigns over to young Matt Smith. In the his final three TV specials, Tennant has confirmed that we can look forward to seeing some familiar faces and old companions.
At the press screening of Water Of Mars today David told reporters:

Davies told Torchwood magazine: “I could write you scene one of series four right now. I know exactly how to pick it up.
Doctor Who writer and executive producer, Russell T Davies has spoken out against a poll in the Independent, which named him the most influential gay man in the UK.
Speaking to the Pink Paper, Davies said: “B******s, am I hell! I had nothing to do with that decision.
“I mean I hope, I think, I do good work and I’ll be very visible as a gay man because I think that’s very important, but in terms of being influential when there are people out there fighting for changes in the law, homophobia in schools. That’s influence.” Read more & comment »
