The Daily Mirror reports today that when US iconic actor Robert Vaughn temporarily joins the cast of Corrie this week, he’s being given the honour of using the late Betty Driver’s dressing room.

A show insider told the paper that since Betty died in October, nobody has used her dressing room at Granada studios, however, the show’s bosses felt it fitting that a star such as Vaughn should use the room.

Robert – who of course previously starred in cult American drama The Man From UNCLE – will play the role of wealthy yank Milton, who arrives in Weatherfield looking for Roy Cropper’s mum Sylvia (Stephanie Cole) who he met on a recent cruise.

We’ll see him on our screens for the first time in the New Year.

It’s been reported today by Broadcast Now that two of of the stars of Coronation Street are to take on The Cube – which is of course hosted by Phillip Schofield, and ‘voiced’ by Colin McFarlane – in a bid to raise money for charity.

Julie Hesmondhalgh, who plays Hayley Cropper, will star on the Christmas special alongside Ryan Thomas who plays Jason Grimshaw.

It’s not yet been revealed which charity they’ll be hoping to raise funds for, nor when the show will air.

And of course, they aren’t the first Corrie stars to take on the infamous Cube, as Jennie McAlpine played the game along with boxer Ricky Hatton last January.

However, Julie and Ryan are probably be hoping to emulate the success of Tom Fletcher – of boy band McFly – who got right to the last level, and ended up winning £100,000 for his nominated charity. Read more & comment »

Emmerdale star Adam Thomas – who plays Adam Barton on the rural soap – is reportedly trying to get his twin brother Scott a job on Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks.

Adam told Inside Soap magazine, “We’re trying to get him a job on ‘Hollyoaks’, but we’ll have to wait and see.

“He’s doing his own thing as a promoter in Manchester at the moment, but fingers crossed he’ll get into acting too.” Read more & comment »

Tommy Duckworth has only been on the Street a few weeks, but already he is making quite a name for himself, particularly amongst the ladies.

After originally setting his sights on Sian Powers (Sacha Parkinson), Tommy (Chris Fountain) does not seem to be particularly put off by the fact that she is gay and in a serious relationship with Sophie Webster (Brooke Vincent).

After placing a bet with Jason Grimshaw (Ryan Thomas) that he can ‘turn’ Sian, he sits back and waits for his chance to make a move.

We reported a few weeks ago how much Corrinne Wicks, who plays Ella Hart in ITV’s Emmerdale, is enjoying her new passionate on screen affair with daughter, Mia’s, boyfriend, Adam (Adam Thomas), and it would seem that the young man in question is enjoying it just as much, as The Mirror today reports.

Thomas, who has played farmer’s son Adam since 2009, has been dating Ella’s on screen daughter, Mia (Sapphire Elia) since dumping ex millionaire girlfriend, Scarlet King, to be with her earlier this year, but it seems that with each new romance he sets his sights a little higher, and is about to embark on a steamy affair with her mum in the next few weeks.

Coronation Street actor Ryan Thomas is reportedly dating Big Brother star Imogen Thomas.

The star, who is best known as sexy Jason Grimshaw in the ITV1 soap, is said to have met the Welsh beauty in Marbella two months ago and has since taken her on a date to Alton Towers.

Corrie star, Ryan Thomas – who plays builder Jason Grimshaw – has reportedly been offered a “megabucks” deal to ensure he remains with the show.

However, according to the Daily Star, Ryan has been warned that he must not get into any further “trouble” outside of work. Ryan was of course in court recently facing charges relating to driving offences.

The paper states that Ryan has been offered a pay rise as part of his new contract with the show, and that it will see his salary rise to £160,000 this year.

A show source told the paper about the deal, adding that new producer, Phil Collinson, has warned Ryan that he may terminate the contract should his behaviour attract bad publicity for the soap.

Corrie actor Ryan Thomas – who plays Jason Grimshaw on the show – has apparently split with his girlfriend Liz Clough.

Ryan, who last year separated from fellow ex-Corrie star and partner Tina O’Brien, told close friends that he decided to end his relationship with model Liz as he didn’t feel “ready” to commit to a serious relationship.

A friend of Ryan’s told the Daily Star Sunday edition, “She’s taken it really well.

“They’ve known each other for years but decided to give a relationship a whirl.

“It hasn’t worked out and Ryan told Liz they were best leaving their physical relationship aside for the sake of their friendship and she was fine with it… Read more & comment »

The judge hearing the case against Coronation Street star Ryan Thomas’ friend, Wayne Pheasey, yesterday branded Ryan “cowardly” when it was revealed that the 25 year old allowed Pheasey to claim he’d been driving when an accident occurred.

In fact, Ryan had been driving when he lost control of his car in Manchester, causing it to crash into a lamppost.

Wayne Pheasey – also 25 years old – was Ryan’s passenger, and it seems that shortly after the accident, Ryan fled, leaving Wayne to tell police he had been driving.

It was revealed in The Sun that Ryan had been drinking, and was afraid that if he stayed at the scene, he would lose his license and potentially face prison. Read more & comment »

Corrie actor Ryan Thomas has told Holy Soap magazine that in upcoming weeks, he’ll be seen in a lot more scenes with his on-screen mum Eileen, played by Sue Cleaver.

He explained that his was because his character’s been spending so much time lately with his grieving on-screen girlfriend Tina, played by Michelle Keegan.

But Ryan confirmed that as Jason’s relationship with Tina begins to break down, Jason will be spending a lot more time with Eileen.

Corrie actors Ryan Thomas and Tina O’Brien – who played on-screen husband and wife – have split up after what the Sunday People describes as “a series of bitter rows.”

According to the paper’s report, Tina left the couple’s home with their one-year-old daughter Scarlett last week and sources close to the couple reckon she “has no plans to return.”

One of those sources told the paper, “They can’t stand the sight of each other. There’s not much hope of them getting back together.

Coronation Street actor Ryan Thomas – who plays Jason Grimshaw in the show – has apparently been questioned by police in connection with a drink-drive collision.

25-year-old Ryan was reportedly quizzed over the incident – which took place in the early hours of last Saturday morning – when a car hit a lamp-post in Manchester city centre.

According to the PA, another man was arrested at the scene and was later charged with “driving while under the influence of drink or drugs”. Read more & comment »

New mum and ex-Corrie actress Tina O’Brien has told Now magazine that she’s given up booze now that she’s a mum and that she’s finding her new role as a mother “exhausting”.

Tina told the magazine how baby Scarlett, who’s now eight months old, has changed her life and that of her hubby Ryan Thomas who was also her on-screen husband Jason Grimshaw.
