Whilst Hollyoaks is, as always, filled to the brim with drama at the moment, some new storylines to wet your appetite have been revealed.

We reported earlier today how Dr Browning (Joseph Thompson) is about to embark on an indecent proposal storyline with his boss, Davies and his fiancée, Mercedes (Jennifer Metcalfe) when he is told he can keep his job in exchange for letting Davies spend the night with the feisty McQueen.

Whilst the outcome of this particular storyline remains a mystery, what has been revealed is that the recent stories that Jennifer Metcalfe is quitting the show to pursue a career in Hollywood are not true.

Hollyoaks beauty, Jennifer Metcalfe, plans on getting over her relationship with Dancing On Ice star, Sylvain Longchambon, by moving to Hollywood.

Jennifer and Sylvain became a couple when they were partnered together during the 2010 series of the hit ITV skating talent show, Dancing On Ice.

However, after two seemingly happy years together, during which they moved into a house together, French International skater, Sylvain chose Christmas time last year to tell Jennifer that he was ending their relationship after developing feelings for his current Dancing On Ice partner, Coronation Street star Samia Ghadie.

While filming scenes for forthcoming episodes, Digital Spy reports that stars Samia Smith and Alison King – who play Maria and Carla Connor – had to take a break while a row between a householder and some builders took place.

Apparently, while Samia and Carla were filming an on-location scene, a group of builders arrived at a nearby house and began digging up the driveway in an apparent dispute over a bill.

DS adds, “Five police cars quickly arrived on the scene in Monton, Salford.”

Samia Smith – who plays the Weatherfield hairdresser – was speaking on ITV1′s Lorraine yesterday and admitted that she loves her job on the ITV soap and has no plans to bow out in the near future.

Samia Smith has admitted that it’s been “nice” to have harrowing storylines again.

The ‘Coronation Street’ actress – who has recently announced her split from husband Matthew Smith – has been filming upsetting scenes which see her character, hairdresser Maria Connor, become the victim of a brutal sexual attack by businessman Frank Foster (Andrew Lancel) and the 28-year-old beauty was pleased to be given such a major plot.

The actress and property developer Matthew Smith – who have a 14-month-old daughter, Freya, together – have decided to end their marriage, but insist the break-up was amicable.

Samia Smith, who’s recently returned to her Coronation Street role as Maria Connor, has revealed that she was “upset” by media reports that said she’s been axed from the show.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Samia said, “If anyone read that they were going to be axed they’d find it upsetting.

“Being off on maternity leave made it even worse, as I was completely out of the loop.

“I put a call in to work and asked what was going on and they reassured me that the rumours were not true.

Corrie actress Samia Smith is apparently worried how her hair’s going to look once the show is broadcast in high definition from next week.

Samia returns to the show – and her role as Maria Connor – next week after being away for months on maternity leave.

And apparently, since giving birth to daughter Freya, Samia’s hair has become “a nightmare”.

Corrie actress Samia Smith, who plays Maria Connor, has revealed that on returning to work after having her first child, she felt as though she hadn’t been away.

Speaking to Heat magazine, Samia said that she’s pleased to be back at work too.

“It’s lovely” she said, adding, “After ten minutes it didn’t feel like I’d had a break at all. In a good way.”
