Shock Horror Frank Gallagher will sober up AND get a job in Shameless!

In what may be one of the most shocking and dramatic storylines in Shameless history, Frank Gallagher is going to sober up and get a job in the second half of series 9!

Gallagher, played by the legendary David Threlafall, is notorious for stumbling around the Chatsworth Estate, popping ecstasy pills and passing out on the floor of either his kitchen or the Jockey, but in this latest twist it is possible we will get to see the man behind the beer goggles so permanent they may as well be the results of beer corrective eye surgery!

Shameless storyline mirrors real life tunnel robbery

A forthcoming storyline on Channel 4’s hit comedy Shameless is to mirror a real life robbery in which the thieves tunneled underneath a cash machine to steal from it.

In the episode, Frank Gallagher (David Threlfall) will help Jamie Maguire (Aaron McCusker) mastermind a plot to dig a tunnel that will lead them to millions of scratchcards which they intend to nick.

New characters to arrive in Chatsworth for series nine of Shameless

It’s been reported today that there are three new characters headed to the Chatsworth Estate when Shameless returns to our screens with a new series on January 10th.

They are former EastEnders stars Stephen Lord and Angeline Ball – who played Jase Dyer and Maggie Townsend respectively in ‘Enders – who play the roles of brother and sister, Dominic and Gloria Meek.

Dominic is described as a priest who needs to “sort his head out”, so he’s sent to Manchester on a sabbatical.

Shameless series 9 now shooting on the Chatsworth Estate

Shameless is currently filming its ninth series in the not so green and pleasant pasture that is the rebooted Chatsworth Estate.

Returning with 22 episodes in the New Year on Channel 4, 2012 sees all the regular Chatsworthians return plus a few new faces; post banking crisis, mid-recession, abandoned by Council and Government alike; this is the Rise of the Underbelly – this is Shameless seceding from Society.
