kat and alfie moon, janine butcher

Starting with the news about Kat (Jessie Wallace) and Alfie (Shane Richie) getting back together in upcoming storylines, the show’s executive producer Lorraine Newman “let slip” the spoiler while at the TV BAFTAs, where ‘Enders scooped the award for Best Soap.

The Daily Mirror reports that she said, “Hopefully they’ll be getting back together… Read more & comment »

Viewers have seen Alfie (Shane Richie) battling with his soon to be former wife Kat (Jessie Wallace) to establish legal visiting rights to her son Tommy, whose biological father is Alfie’s cousin, Michael Moon (Steve John Shepherd).

And it’s as this storyline continues that Roxy (Rita Simons) decides that a child of his own is what doormat Alfie needs.

A show insider told the Daily Star Sunday, “Roxy adores Alfie but will always be insecure where Kat is concerned… Read more & comment »

EastEnders Spoilers: Things turn nasty between Kat and Alfie Moon over Tommy! (VIDEO)

EastEnders

In next week’s episodes of EastEnders, Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) is still resisting Alfie’s attempts to have his rights to contact with little Tommy made formal through solicitors…

And though things between Kat and Alfie (Shane Richie) are initially cordial, as we’ll see in Monday’s visit to Walford, he’s concerned for the little boy’s wellbeing when on several occasions, he sees Kat’s place is a tip.

So with that in mind, Alfie forges ahead with his planned meeting with his solicitor, and though Jean’s worried about it all, Alfie assures her that Kat knows he’s going, and is fine with it.

However, when Jean (Gillian Wright) later mentions it to Kat, it’s clear she didn’t know about it, nor is she fine with it. Read more & comment »

And ahead of it, Shane Richie, who of course plays Alfie, has revealed that he loved filming the tense scenes for the big reveal with his co-star Jessie Wallace, who plays Kat.

Speaking to Digital Spy, he said, “Playing all of that has been brilliant, especially working with Jessie on those dramatic scenes. I think we do angst very well!”

And when asked if he’s excited for viewers to find out what Kat’s mystery man is, he said, “Most definitely! We filmed the episode two months ago, so we’ve been sitting on this for a long time now. Read more & comment »

EastEnders: Alfie Moon bookies’ favourite to murder Derek Branning! And see Syed and Christian in final showdown (VIDEO)

Fans of EastEnders will of course know that Albert Square baddie Derek Branning is set to die at Christmas, and though the details about his death are being kept firmly under wraps, it’s widely expected that Derek is going to be murdered…

The big question of course is, by whom?

Well, bookmakers are taking bets on whodunit and currently, Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) is William Hill’s favourite to turn out to be a killer, with the assumption being that he tops Del after finding out he is the Branning brother who’s been having an affair with Alfie’s wife, Kat (Jessie Wallace).

However, there are other Walford residents in the frame too, and they include Derek’s brothers Max (Jake Wood) and Jack (Scott Maslen) and while my personal theory about what reason Max could have to bump off his brother is that it’ll transpire he had an affair with Tanya (Jo Joyner) I can’t see what reason Jack would have to kill him. Can you? Read more & comment »

EastEnders: Phil tells Kat and Alfie “Get outta my pub!” while Derek has a case of small man syndrome! (VIDEO)

There’s a good deal of drama taking place in the Vic on Monday, beginning with the return of wandering EastEnders residents Kat and Alfie Moon, who’re given short shrift by the perennially grumpy Phil Mitchell!

Also on Monday, Derek Branning (Jamie Foreman) is left feeling rather small when he meets the date his brothers Jack (Scott Maslen) and Max (Jake Wood) have set him up with.

But first, of Kat and Alfie’s return, they of course left Phil (Steve McFadden) well and truly up poop creek sans paddle when they decided on a spur of the moment holiday which was designed to heal the rift in their marriage that was caused by Kat’s (Jessie Wallace) latest affair.

However, when they make it clear to Phil that they’re ready to take over the running of the pub again, he proves that the apple didn’t fall too far from the Peggy Mitchell tree when he tells them, “You’ve got no chance! Get outta my pub!” or words to that effect… Read more & comment »

EastEnders: Sooo, Michael Moon isn’t Kat’s lover – and actually, I’ve given up caring! Have you? (VIDEO)

In last night’s EastEnders, we discovered that Michael Moon (Steve John Shepherd) isn’t Kat Moon’s lover…

I had come to think he was after Ray Dixon (Chucky Venn) was ruled out, so I guess that leaves the main contender to be Max Branning (Jake Wood) who I’d previously thought was Mr X.

However, I have to say, I had thought the show’s bosses had promised us viewers that we’d learn the identity of Mr Lover Lover this week, but I guess I either got it wrong or they did.

But either way, I’m rather much at the point where I’ve stopped caring. I think this storyline has gone on way too long.

And though 7.5million of us tuned in to watch Kat’s confession to the long suffering Alfie (Shane Richie) I’m really not sure how much longer we viewers are prepared to continue to be intrigued by the storyline… Read more & comment »

EastEnders: After Kat Moon confesses her affair, do you feel sorry for Alfie or want to slap him round like a red headed stepchild?

In last night’s trip to Walford, we saw Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) confessing to Alfie (Shane Richie) that she was, as he suspected, having an affair.

As ever, Alfie took the news in an unsurprised and weary manner, while continuing to lavish affection on his compulsive knicker-dropper wife…

Because of course, it’s not the first time that Kat’s played away. She had an affair with Alfie’s cousin Michael (Steve John Shepherd) which resulted in Kat having Michael’s son Tommy. She also had a brief fling with a delivery man in what might best be described under the headline, Kat In Back Alley Knee Trembler Scandal.

But each and every time, Alfie has not only forgiven Kat, he’s also blamed himself to some degree, assuming that it’s something he can’t offer Kat that she’s seeking elsewhere.

One can only guess at what that might be, and I’ve tried to do just that, via the medium of trying to figure out how big Alfie’s feet are, and/or the distance from his thumb to his forefinger. But to no avail… Read more & comment »

EastEnders: Alfie Moon to offer ‘Murder Tours’ to tourists, including visiting Heather Trott’s flat!

It’s been reported today that Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) is set to capitalize on the grisly history of Albert Square by starting up Murder Tours, which will see the enterprising landlord taking visitors on a tour of the murder hot spots around the Square…

And of course, that includes the scene of Walford’s latest murder, that of Heather Trott (Cheryl Fergison).

Alfie will, according to The Sun, take morbid visitors to the flat where Ben (Joshua Pascoe) of course saw Heather off on her journey to the great KFC in the sky via the medium of smack on the head with a photo frame.

Of the plotline, which will air in October and particularly on Halloween, a show insider said, “The backroom staff had a lot of fun planning this one.”

And there’s a very lot of gruesome There’s Been A Murdherrrr fun to be had around Walford, given how many residents have met an untimely end on the Square, either through foul play, illness or accidents… Read more & comment »

EastEnders: See pics of the moment Kat Moon confesses her affair to Alfie! I think Mr X is Max! Do you?

In episodes of EastEnders which will air on Thursday, September 13 at 7.30pm and Friday, September 14 at 8pm on BBC1, we’re finally going to learn who it is that Kat Moon has been having an affair with!

As will poor old doormat Alfie (Shane Richie) who has been completely oblivious to the fact that Kat (Jessie Wallace) has been playing away, yet again.

So who will Mr X turn out to be? Well, I think it’s Max (Jake Wood) based only on the fact that when Kat was bandaging up her mystery man after the fight in the Vic, the ‘patient’ wore a black shirt, and of all the men who were brawling, only Max wore a black shirt.

But of course, that may have been a red herring, designed to throw us off the scent, and still in the Mr Lover Lover running are Derek, (Jamie Foreman) Jack, (Scott Maslen) and Michael Moon, (Steve John Shepherd) in addition to Max… Read more & comment »

EastEnders: Kat Moon’s mystery man confesses he’s in love with her tonight, while Phil gives Alfie an ultimatum! (VIDEO)

In tonight’s visit to Walford, we’re going to get one step closer to finding out the identity of the man that Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) has been having an affair with…

And whoever he is, he’s going to tell Kat – via the medium of leaving her a message written in lipstick – that he’s fallen for her, when he writes on a bandage, “I love you.”

The drama begins as a brawl breaks out in the Queen Vic after Alfie (Shane Richie) tells the pub’s football team members that Ray Dixon (Chucky Venn) has been playing for a rival team as well.

And £50 says that Alfie’s going to start his revelation with words to the effect of, “Someone’s been playing away!” so that Kat gets a suitable fright, thinking he could be onto her and her mystery man… Read more & comment »

EastEnders star Shane Richie vamps it up in new movie, The Reverend! (VIDEO)

As Alfie Moon in EastEnders, Shane Richie plays a doormat – where wife Kat (Jessie Wallace) is concerned anyway – but in a new movie entitled The Reverend, he plays the role of a pimp and drug addict who’s a far cry from paisley shirt loving, gentle dad and kindly mine host Alfie.

The film, which also stars icon Rutger Hauer and Stuart Brennan, will be released on August 3 in cinemas, and on August 6 on DVD.

Here’s the official synopsis for The Reverend:
