As fans of Corrie will know, lesbian teens Sophie Webster and Sian Powers plan to get married soon, however, there’s to be a rather large spanner in their nuptial works in the form of Amber (Nikki Patel) who Sophie has fallen for.

Sophie is of course played by Brooke Vincent, and Sian is portrayed by Sacha Parkinson, who is leaving the show following Sophie and Sian’s break up.

Of the storyline, Brooke told Soaplife that as devout Christian Sophie and Sian are at the altar, Sophie just cannot bring herself to make the vows to Sian that in her heart, she doesn’t mean.

Brooke said, “She thinks that as soon as she’s said ‘I do’ and she’s married it will all be OK.”

There are busy times ahead for the Websters as we move ever nearer to Christmas, but their festive season is set to be marred by sadness and anger…

The anger will come to a head when, on the day of her wedding to Sian Powers (Sacha Parkinson) Sophie Webster (Brooke Vincent) breaks down and reveals that she’s in love with Amber Kalirai (Nikki Patel).

Unsurprisingly, Sian isn’t terribly impressed with this news, or with being ditched at the altar, and she’ll flee Weatherfield a heartbroken girl.

It’s been reported today that Corrie lesbians Sian Powers (Sacha Parkinson) and Sophie Webster (Brooke Vincent) are to tie the knot later this year, resplendent in matching white gowns.

However, Sian will ditch Sophie at the altar after finding out she’s been unfaithful.

The Sun reports that Sian will find out that Sophie has been hopping on the good foot and doing the bad thing with Amber (Nikki Patel), and not unreasonably, she decides marriage is not the best way forward. So she legs it.

Sacha Parkinson, who plays Sian Powers in Corrie, has revealed that she’s “excited” that about her character’s marriage storyline.

As we saw in last night’s episode of the soap, feeling guilty for kissing Amber (Nikki Patel) Sian’s girlfriend Sophie Webster (Brooke Vincent) asked Sian to marry her.

Speaking to Celebs on Sunday, Sacha explained, “Sophie proposes because she’s confused by the feelings she’s having for Amber.

“She decides the one thing that will keep her and Sian together is if they get married.

Sacha Parkinson, who of course plays Sian Powers in Corrie, has teased that in a forthcoming storyline, her character may marry on-screen lover, Sophie Webster.

The marriage plotline will reportedly get underway when Sophie (Brooke Vincent) falls for Amber Kakirai (Nikki Patel) and in a desperate bid to save their relationship, Sian will propose to Sophie.

Speaking to What’s On TV magazine about the wedding, Sacha said, “We’re both in dresses – thank God!

“I know I would have been the one that ended up with a suit, because Brooke just takes over everything!

Sacha Parkinson – who of course plays Sian Powers in Coronation Street – has revealed that she was “fuming” when she learned that she’s to be involved in a lesbian love triangle storyline.

As viewers will know, Sian’s character is the girlfriend of Sophie Webster (Brooke Vincent) but in forthcoming episodes, we’re going to see Sophie embark on an affair with Amber Kaliari (Nikki Patel).

Sacha told BANG Showbiz, “I was so jealous when I first read the storyline. I was absolutely fuming.

“I was like, ‘How could Sophie do that to Sian?’.”

Sacha – who’s leaving ‘Coronation Street’ in early 2012 – also confessed that she’s got “lazy” during her time in the soap, and is now keen to take new challenges, including her new role as a rebellious character in E4 teen drama ‘Skins’.

Coronation Street actor Ben Thompson – who plays Sian Power’s boyfriend, Ryan Connor – has told the PA that he finds it “a bit weird” that two of his co-stars are portraying lesbians in the show.

Ryan has been in a mini-love triangle with Sian – played by Sacha Parkinson – and her best friend Sophie Webster, who’s played by Brooke Vincent, but things took an unexpected turn last week when Sian and Sophie shared a kiss.
