Uh oh its war of the British comedians!!!! Simon Pegg has called Ricky Gervais an idiot and made a jibe about his weight, it’s only a matter of time before Gervais hits back.
Pegg was being interviewed by Jamie Theakston and Harriet Scott for London’s Heart 106.2 when he was asked if he, like Gervais, felt under pressure from the LA lifestyle.
Pegg responded: “He says a lot of things, that man.
“He said there’d been no good British films since 1950. What an idiot… Read more & comment »

This week Jonathan Ross welcomes Jamie Oliver to his BBC One show, Friday Night With Jonathan Ross.
Talking about the nation’s health, Jamie says: “It’s going to be a horror show…the health system is crumbling, and when it’s gone we’ll be so sad because we’re breaking it.
“The last time our government did something radical about health was the Ministry of Food.”
On school dinners, he adds: “It’ll be nine years before we get a service across the board, we’re on track, we need more money for kitchens for every school…we’ve got a government that’s talking about it a lot, I want to know who’s running it so they can do a good job.” Read more & comment »

I can therefore understand Pegg’s outrage when the first he heard about his show moving stateside, was when he read it in a newspaper.
He said in a statement: “It is this flagrant snub and effective vote of no confidence in the very people that created the show that has caused such affront. If they don’t care about the integrity of the original, why call it Spaced?
“A simple phone call and a few reassurances might have helped to at least curtail the tide of indignation from fans and creators alike. I have, as of yet, heard nothing.” Read more & comment »

Like The Office before it, Simon Pegg’s Channel 4 sitcom, Spaced will be adapted into an American version by US network, Fox.
Having starred in recent box office hits such as Hot Fuzz, Run Fatboy Run and of course Shaun Of The Dead, things just can’t get much better for Mr Pegg, can they!
