Skins star Kaya Scodelario has revealed that she wasn’t allowed to shave for three months while filming for her new movie, Wuthering Heights.
Kaya, who plays the lead role of Cathy in the new movie adaptation of the classic novel, was told she must let her body hair grow naturally so as to make her character look more authentic on-screen.
Speaking to The Sun, Kaya – who’s dating Shameless star Elliott Titensor – said that the order came from Andrea Arnold, who’s adapted the book for the film.
She said, “Andrea told all the girls at the beginning of the shoot, ‘Grow everything’. Everyone was, like, ‘Urgh’.
“I was really impressed with what I achieved in three months.
“We’d go to the pub in the evening and I’d hear people chanting, ‘Get your pits out’. I’d just sit and show them.” Read more & comment »

The 17-year-old star – who plays popular princess Mini McGuinness in the E4 teen drama – confessed that she was already upset when she found out that her scenes would include nudity and things got much worse when her dad read the script.
Freya explained: “The rudest scene I’ve ever done was my first raunchy scene. I cried for hours because I was so nervous. Also, because I’m only 17, they couldn’t have a bloke thrusting on top of me without anything in between us, so they rolled up a camping mat and shoved it in between us. It felt so bizarre.

The stars of E4′s ‘Skins’ have revealed that their fans are often “disappointed” by the fact that they are all reasonably well behaved in real life.
The teen drama focuses on the trials and tribulations of a wayward bunch of British teens, but Freya Mavor – best known as popular princess Mini McGuiness – admitted although she and her co-stars get naked plenty of times in the series, they wouldn’t do “half the things” their ‘Skins’ alter-egos get up to.
She exclusively told BANG Showbiz: “I think a lot of fans are disappointed when they find out we don’t actually take drugs in real life or do half the things our characters do on the show. Can you imagine if Channel 4 actually gave us crack?

It’s been my New Year’s resolution to watch things that I don’t normally. It paid off in Desperate Housewives, but Skins… well, I suspect I’m too old for it.
It’s not that I can’t appreciate the humour, and there’s lot of it, albeit often very dark, but I suppose that my intolerance of it came simply from being of an age where teenage angst is about as important to me as how next door’s cactus is doing.
I’ve been there done that with of course my own years of teenage horror – though mine were far less complex than the characters of Skins – and I then vicariously endured it all with my three kids who are now safely delivered from the clutches of pre-twenty years old hormonal shifts… Read more & comment »

There is her hippy mum (Olivia Colman); the adoration from Emily (Kathryn Prescott); Cook’s (Jack O’Connell) insulting misogyny; and her politics teacher, Kieron’s (Ardal O’Hanlon), flattery. She thinks she has them all sussed, and that it’s only her who can see the truth.
