Coronation Street Spoilers: Eileen Grimshaw and Paul Kershaw are back on, and their wedding is in a fortnight! (VIDEO)

Corrie couple Paul Kershaw and Eileen Grimshaw have of course seen their romance flounder in the wake of the Rovers fire, which left Paul’s firefighter friend Toni dead…

And it was Toni’s death that made Eileen realise that it could just as easily have been Paul (Tony Hirst) who died in that fire, or indeed, in any fire, so she has been trying to convince Paul to give up his job.

However, he’s adamant that he won’t, and as we’ve seen recently, there seems to be no way forward for the couple, who are set to agree that parting is the only answer. Read more & comment »

Coronation Street Spoilers: Has Eileen Grimshaw blown it with Paul just as he’s about to propose?!

Next week, insecure Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver) will turn detective after suspecting her fireman boyfriend Paul Kershaw is cheating on her, however, when Paul finds out that Eileen has been spying on him, he won’t be happy…

The drama begins on Monday 4th March when Paul (Tony Hirst) lets slip that the organizer of the Full Monty fundraiser is Toni – a woman – and not Tony, a bloke! However, he’s taken aback at how upset Eileen is over it, but nonetheless, he dismisses her concerns.

However, when Eileen tells her sister Julie Carp (Katy Cavanagh) about it, Julie suggests that they go and see if there is in fact anything to be worried about, so they sneak off and watch Paul and Toni together at the fire station, but Paul catches them red handed. Read more & comment »

Coronation Street Spoilers: Tony Hirst has been axed from role as fireman Paul Kershaw – could he be the second Rovers fire casualty?

As more details about the upcoming Rovers Return arson storyline emerge, it has now been revealed that Tony Hirst, who plays fireman Paul Kershaw in the hit ITV soap, has been axed from the show.

Paul first came onto our Coronation Street screens back in 2010 as the married fireman that Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver) began a controversial affair with behind the back of his dementia suffering wife, Lesley, after he rescued her from having her head stuck in railings on top of Underworld factory on her 50th birthday.

Corrie Spoilers: Paul Kershaw will dump Eileen Grimshaw instead of proposing to her after she accuses him of playing away!

It’s fair to say that Coronation Street resident Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver) doesn’t have much luck when it comes to blokes, however, since winning the heart of fireman Paul Kershaw, it seemed that cupid was finally on her side…

However, according to the Daily Star today, things are set to go the way of the pear for Eileen after she wrongly accuses Paul – who’s played by former Hollyoaks star Tony Hirst – of being unfaithful to her.

And worse yet, when Paul finds out that Eileen not only doesn’t trust him, but she also roped in her half-sister Julie Carp (Katy Cavanagh) to spy on him, he’ll dump her while informing her that he had been about to propose! Read more & comment »

Coronation Street: Corrie Goes To Kenya air date announced

ITV have announced today that the documentary made by Coronation Street stars Brooke Vincent, Sue Cleaver, Ben Price and Ryan Thomas, which is entitled, Corrie Goes to Kenya, will air on Friday, August 17 at 9pm on ITV1.

The airdate for the second part of the emotional film is expected to be confirmed soon, but in its first edition, we see the Corrie stars jetting out to Kenya where they work with the charity S.A.F.E. on a mission to use performing arts to educate people on the dangers of HIV and drug abuse.

ITV’s press release states, “Using their Coronation Street storyline experience, the foursome had just over a week to recruit local actors and workshop their story ideas into a series of soap-like plays with a warning message which were then performed by them and S.A.F.E.’s Kenyan actors to a live audience in the African bush.”

The first episode sees the Corrie stars arriving in the “biggest slum” area of Mombasa, which is home to 20,000 people who have no running water, a poor sewage system and who run a high risk of contracting cholera or dysentery… Read more & comment »

Coronation Street’s Sue Cleaver (Eileen Grimshaw) contracts mystery illness after she returns from filming in Kenya

Coronation Street actress Sue Cleaver, who plays Eileen Grimshaw in the award-winning ITV soap, has been admitted to hospital after contracting a mystery illness whilst filming in Kenya.

Cleaver had been over in Kenya taking part in a documentary called Corrie Goes To Kenya with fellow cast members Brooke Vincent (Sophie Webster), Ryan Thomas (Jason Grimshaw) and Ben Price (Nick Tilsley).

Corrie: Eileen Grimshaw will be in the eye of a taxi wars storm between Steve and Lloyd!

In forthcoming episodes of Coronation Street, taxi cab office worker Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver) is going to be head hunted by the owner of a new rival cab firm, but the sting in the tail there is that said rival firm is being run by Steve McDonald’s – now former one assumes – BFF Lloyd Mullaney!

As fans of the show will recall, Steve (Simon Gregson) and Lloyd (Craig Charles) were not only best buds prior to Lloyd leaving Weatherfield at the end of last year after his relationship with Cheryl Gray ended, but they were also partners in Steve’s cab company, Street Cars…

However, eager to make a fresh start, Lloyd sold his half of Street Cars to Steve’s ex-wife Becky, who subsequently sold her share of the business back to Steve when she jetted off to pursue her own new start with lover Danny in Barbados... Read more & comment »

Corrie: Ryan Thomas is staying on the show and is one of four cast members who’re off to Africa!

Fans of Ryan Thomas, who of course plays the role of Jason Grimshaw in Corrie, will doubtless be pleased to hear that he has renewed his contract to stay with the soap for at least another year.

Likewise, Alan Halsall, who plays battered husband Tyrone Dobbs, has also renewed his contract with the show.

Alan took to Twitter to announce the good news, writing, “Exclusive! Ha not much of 1. I’m delighted to say I signed my new contract 2day @ corrie!

“Good news if ya a fan but not for @NatalieGumede x”

Corrie star Tony Hirst hopes Paul Kershaw and Eileen Grimshaw have a future together

Coronation Street star Tony Hirst has revealed that he hopes his character Paul Kershaw and his girlfriend Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver) have a happy future together.

As we saw in last night’s episode, Paul asked Eileen to attend his wife Lesley’s funeral with him, which didn’t go down well with Lesley’s sister Yvonne, but feisty Eileen put the woman firmly in her place after enduring her sniping throughout the service.

And when Eileen and Paul headed back to the Street, Paul revealed that he loves Eileen and wants them to live together.

And while the nation heaved a collective sigh of relief for the upturn in unlucky-in-love Eileen’s fate, David and Kylie Platt – who are played by Jack P Shepherd and Paula Lane – were less than pleased for the couple as it means that Eileen is no longer selling her house. Corrie: Will Eileen Grimshaw be accused of murdering Lesley Kershaw?!


As fans of Coronation Street will know, patient Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver) has been helping her fireman boyfriend Paul Kershaw (Tony Hirst) to take care of his wife Lesley (Judy Holt) who has early onset Alzheimer’s.

However, a couple of weeks ago, Paul and Eileen decided that it was time Lesley went into a specialist residential care home, and since then, the couple have, for the first time, had a sense of normality in their lives, and are even going abroad on a well earned break…

But things go horribly wrong when Lesley wanders off from the care home, and turns up at the house she and Paul formerly shared.

So a frantic Paul, alerted by a neighbour, races to his old home and finds Lesley in a distressed state outside. He takes her back to Coronation Street, but the poor woman is in such an agitated state, she won’t be calmed… Read more & comment »

Corrie stars gather to film tragic Lesley Kershaw’s funeral & Michelle Keegan’s T’d off?

As fans of Corrie will know, Eileen Grimshaw’s fireman boyfriend Paul Kershaw (Tony Hirst) recently put his wife Lesley into residential care as the effects of her early onset Alzheimer’s meant she was a danger to herself and others…

But, things are set to take a tragic turn for Paul when Lesley (Judy Holt) dies, however it’s not been revealed as yet exactly what brings about her death.

The Sun’s TV Biz spotted Tony Hirst and Sue Cleaver – who of course plays Eileen – among other Corrie stars filming Lesley’s funeral at a crematorium in Manchester yesterday.

In other Corrie news, the same paper snapped a photo of Michelle Keegan, who of course plays Tina McIntyre, wearing a T-Shirt that bore the legend, “Wild hearts can’t be broken…” Read more & comment »

Coronation Street is a real Crime Street with police called out 71 times!

It’s been reported today that in the last ten years, the police have been called to the set of Coronation Street no less than 71 times.

The Mirror reports that there have been acts of vandalism and criminal damage, thefts, fights and assorted other crimes that have required the police to attend the scenes.

The paper adds, “Freedom of Information requests show two people at Granada’s Manchester studios – also home to The Jeremy Kyle Show and Take Me Out – were charged with actual bodily harm and six violent assaults took place.”

The crime toll lists the thefts of 22 mobile phones, 12 computers, 3 cameras, a bicycle and an electric saw which were the result of 7 burglaries and 4 vehicle break-ins.

Perhaps these figures should also include how many times medics have been called to the set, because they’d have one more incident to add to that list after this weekend’s report that Sue Cleaver needed treatment after getting a whack in the face… Read more & comment »

Corrie star Sue Cleaver says “things get worse” yet for Eileen Grimshaw

As fans of Corrie will know, Eileen Grimshaw is living with something of a ménage a trois right now, given her boyfriend Paul Kershaw (Tony Hirst) is living in her house with his wife Lesley…

However, this is no ordinary affair given that Lesley (Judy Holt) has Alzheimer’s and needs 24/7 care, which both Eileen and Paul are struggling to give her as they both work full time.

But next week, things escalate to a dangerous level when Lesley – who’s left briefly unattended – wanders off with little Amy Barlow in tow.

Coronation Street’s Tony Hirst reveals that Paul is hiding more than one secret!

As viewers of Corrie will know, last night, Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver) spent the night with her new boyfriend Paul, but what she doesn’t yet know is, he’s married!

Her lodger Marcus (Charlie Condou) spotted Paul in the supermarket with his wife, and in forthcoming episodes, he’ll spill the beans about what he saw to Eileen…

However, Tony Hirst, who plays the philandering fireman, has hinted that his character’s wife isn’t the only secret he’s harbouring.

In an interview with Soaplife, Tony first discussed how much Paul likes Eileen.

Corrie star Sue Cleaver has been telling TV Times magazine that when she learned her character Eileen Grimshaw was to have a new love interest, she assumed it would all go wrong for the unlucky in love blonde.

When asked what her first reaction was to learning Eileen would fall for fireman Paul, who’s played by former Hollyoaks actor Tony Hirst, Sue said,“I thought ‘Oh God, here we go! This is going to be a nightmare again; it’ll all go horribly wrong and he’ll be a nasty piece of work.’
