As we reported earlier, ITV were celebrating last night as it was revealed that their primetime soap Emmerdale had thrashed rival BBC drama EastEnders in the viewer ratings on Tuesday night…
And it’s been widely speculated of late that the dwindling number of EastEnders viewers is down to the “cast exodus” which has seen some of the show’s biggest names leaving the soap in recent months.
Among those who’ve left, or are about to leave, is Jo Joyner, who of course plays Tanya Branning, and yesterday, she filmed her final scenes as the long-suffering mum. Read more & comment »

Fans of EastEnders will know that treacherous Max Branning (Jake Wood) is currently living with his wife Kirsty, who’s told him she’s pregnant…
Max wants her to get an abortion, and though he hasn’t told her why, it’s because he still has hopes of getting back with his ex-wife Tanya (Jo Joyner) who of course, he’s still in love with.
However, when Tanya finally confronts Max, telling him that she knows about the baby, she hits the nail on the head when she says she knows he’s been trying to keep his options open by being with Kirsty (Kierston Wareing) while waiting to see if she, Tanya, softens and takes him back… Read more & comment »

As we reported a while ago, it had been rumoured that EastEnders star Jo Joyner was to join the “exodus” of the soap’s cast by leaving her role as Tanya Branning.
And today it’s been confirmed that she will indeed be leaving the BBC soap later this year, though as yet, it hasn’t been revealed how the character of Tanya will be written out.
Of her decision to leave the show, Jo said, “I love playing Tanya and being part of such a great show… Read more & comment »

Fans of EastEnders have reacted angrily to the news that yet another cast member is leaving – Steve John Shepherd who plays Michael Moon has recently quit the show – and many have branded the soap “unrecognizable” as a whole host of cast members have departed in recent months.
And it seems that annoyance is being reflected in the soap’s viewing figures, which fell to around 6.36 million during last Thursday’s episode. To put that into context, Coronation Street was viewed by 9.5million of us last Monday night.
The Daily Mirror reports that fans have taken to internet forums to express their anger over the ever-changing faces on the show, with one viewer writing, “It will take a genius to save the train-wreck that is EastEnders.” Read more & comment »

We reported last week that Kirsty Branning (Kierston Wareing) is set to become pregnant later this year, much to Max Branning’s horror…
However, according to the Mail Online, she’s not the only Branning who’ll find herself hearing the pitter patter of tiny feet as Max’s ex-wife Tanya (Jo Joyner) is also apparently going to become pregnant after a night of passion with Phil Mitchell!
Phil (Steve McFadden) and Tanya will share a bed in upcoming episodes after Tanya gets drunk during a romantic dinner with Walford’s hard man Phil. However, the next morning, as she’s suffering a horrible hangover, Phil will reassure her that they didn’t have sex… Read more & comment »

Coming up in next week’s EastEnders, Tanya Branning and Phil Mitchell are set to become something of an item, and even end up spending the night together after a booze fuelled date!
The plot twist begins on Monday, March 18th when Tanya (Jo Joyner) spots that Phil (Steve McFadden) has dozed off in the café…
Bemused, she wakes him, and the two begin chatting, finding a bond in the fact that neither has a very high opinion of the other. However, they’re interrupted when Sharon (Letitia Dean) returns to inform Tanya that she’s just seen Max (Jake Wood) flat-hunting on the Square. Read more & comment »

Fans of EastEnders will of course know that Max ‘I Can’t Keep It In My Trousers’ Branning is currently facing the wrath of his daughters Abi (Lorna Fitzgerald) and Lauren (Jacqueline Jossa) for having seemingly resumed his relationship with his wife Kirsty Branning…
Because of course, when Kirsty first turned up on the Square at Christmas, Max told everybody that he’d married her on the spur of the moment when he was separated from Tanya (Jo Joyner) and though she’s officially his wife, he considered the whole thing a mistake and the marriage was on paper only.
However, now that Tanya has ditched him once again, he’s reunited with Kirsty, and to add insult to injury, he’s staying with her at the B&B on the Square, which is where Abi found them seemingly in flagrante this week… Read more & comment »

Fans of EastEnders may know that Jo Joyner, who plays Tanya Branning, is set to leave the show for a few weeks in order to spend time with her young family…
And of course, given the intense drama that’s focused on the arrival and subsequent departure of Tanya’s love rival Kirsty – who married Max Branning last summer – Jo may well be in need of a break!
The storyline has of course dominated the soap’s plotlines for weeks now, and earlier this week, we saw Tanya telling Max it was over between when he confessed that he still has feelings for Kirsty… Read more & comment »

Beginning with Tyler (Tony Discipline) and Whitney (Shona McGarty) their romance is set to encounter a severe rough patch later this week when Whitney confesses to Tyler that she kissed Joey Branning (David Witts). You can read about that here.
However, in episodes that air next week – as of Monday, January 28, we’ll see that Tyler wants to fix things with Whitney – even though he dumps her over the kiss – and he realizes that only a grand gesture is going to do… Read more & comment »

As fans of EastEnders will know, Tanya Branning is rapidly reaching the end of her tether with Kirsty Branning’s continued presence on the Square. Kirsty of course turned up on Christmas Day and announced that she and Max are married.
And next week, Tanya (Jo Joyner) will present Kirsty (Kierston Wareing) with divorce papers that she’ll demand Kirsty her love rival signs, and though initially Kirsty point blank refuses, after realizing that she’s facing defeat in her bid to win Max back, she’ll hand him the signed documents as she tells him that she’s leaving Walford.
However, in an interview with Inside Soap magazine, Jake Wood – who of course plays Max – has revealed that when his character decides to be brutally honest with Tanya about his relationship with Kirsty, she’s set to realize that he still has some feelings for his wife… Read more & comment »

Fans of EastEnders will know that Tanya Branning is having to put up with having a glamorous cuckoo in her nest in the form of Max’s wife Kirsty, however, in next week’s episodes, things are going to take a surprising turn…
That turn being that Kirsty (Kierston Wareing) apparently admits defeat and vows to leave Walford. And not only that, she signs the divorce papers that Tanya (Jo Joyner) had drawn up – having previously scrawled the word ‘NEVER’ across the document in red lippy – and hands them to a befuddled Max (Jake Wood).
But surely it can’t be that easy? Read more & comment »

As fans of EastEnders will know, there’s a cuckoo in Tanya Branning’s nest in the form of Max’s wife, Kirsty (Kierston Wareing) who of course turned up on Christmas Day, just as Max (Jake Wood) and Tanya were about to wed for a second time…
However, while of course Tanya (Jo Joyner) is understandably livid that Max didn’t mention he’d got married last summer while he was absent from the Square, the fact that he was about to commit bigamy seems to have gone largely unmentioned.
But nonetheless, Kirsty is proving harder to get rid of than a Tory government, and she’s about to establish her claim to Max via the bitchy medium of telling Tanya that she and her husband snogged right before the Branning clan buried deceased brother Derek.
Kirsty will make the shocking revelation when Tanya storms round to the B&B with divorce papers for Kirsty to sign, but of course, her feeble attempt at giving her love rival her marching orders is an epic fail as Kirsty revels in revealing the details of that kiss… Read more & comment »

Max Branning apparently learns slower than earth worms, because the Daily Star today reports that in forthcoming episodes, he’s once again going to be seen snogging his wife Kirsty (Kierston Wareing) which he’s already done once when what he was meant to be doing was getting rid of her!
However, as we saw in last night’s episode of EastEnders, Kirsty has told Tanya that she’s got no intention of leaving Walford, unless it’s with Max (Jake Wood) at her side.
And as Jo Joyner, who of course plays Tanya, is set to leave the show for a few months at the end of January, it might be safe to assume that there aren’t any happy endings in store for her in the foreseeable future!
But back to the Daily Star’s exclusive story, they report that when Max and Kirsty lock lips again, it’s after Max has suffered a beating at the hands of whoever it is he and his late brother Derek owed money to… Read more & comment »

Fans of EastEnders will know that during the show’s Christmas Day episode, we finally learned what secret Max Branning (Jake Wood) and his now dead brother Derek had been harbouring for months…
And it was that while he and Tanya (Jo Joyner) were separated for a few months last year, Max remarried, but he subsequently dumped his new wife Kirsty (Kierston Wareing) to reunite with Tanya.
The big revelation came as Max and Tanya were about to remarry in a ceremony arranged by Max, but of course, when Kirsty arrived on the doorstep, it quickly transpired that the marriage would have been null and void as Max is still married to Kirsty.
But of course, Tanya has vowed that she’ll get rid of Kirsty, but in turn, Kirsty has revealed that she’s not going anywhere without her husband… Read more & comment »
