Terry Wogan isn’t retiring

Terry Wogan has denied claims that he is planning to retire. Despite handing over his Radio Two breakfast show to Chris Evans, Terry has revealed that he will be all over radio and TV in the coming year.

Sir Terry, told The Mirror: “I am not retiring; I am doing a weekly radio show and television. I am going to be all over the place like a cheap suit – people will be fed up of me.

“Her Majesty hasn’t written to me personally but there has been a tremendous reaction.

“It is very flattering but I would rather go while people still want me there, instead of saying, ‘He’s not bad for his age is he?’”

Terry Wogan wants to take Paul O’Grady’s chat show

Terry Wogan may be quitting Radio Two but he isn’t retiring just yet. In fact he is plotting to land himself a high profile chat show instead.

Rumours have been circulating that Paul O’Grady is about to walk from Channel 4, leaving his tea time chat show open for replacements. Terry Wogan wants to step into his shoes.

A source told The Sun: “Terry may have retired from his early morning radio show but he is still full of beans and bursting to do other things.

Chris Evans will take over Terry Wogan’s radio slot

Terry Wogan has confirmed that his “good friend” Chris Evans will take over the BBC Radio Two breakfast show next year.

Wogan revealed the change of presenters on this mornings show and said that he was sure his listeners would welcome Evans with “loyalty and support”.

Wogan said: “It touches me deeply that I’ve played a part in your lives for, it seems, like generations.

“This is not goodbye – not even au revoir. As we used to say when I was a boy, see you later alligator.”

Newsreaders have ‘the easiest job in the media’, according to Sir Terry Wogan.

The BBC Radio 2 breakfast show presenter has launched a tirade against ’self important’ news readers, saying their job is a piece of cake.

In his new book ‘Where Was I?! The World According To Terry Wogan’, the former Eurovision host wrote about a journalist who refused to be in the same room as his co-presenter because they normally fronted low class makeover shows.

“Why your man left in such a huff is a mystery,” Sir Terry said. “News reading is not something to get self-important or petulant about, it’s a piece of cake, the easiest job in the media.

WOGAN’S PERFECT RECALL – CHANNEL 4

Sir Terry Wogan returns for a new series of the ultimate game of memory. The first round is all about survival, as the players need to be first to the buzzer to answer 20 general knowledge questions, filling the answer bank with 20 answers. The player with the lowest score is eliminated. Rounds two and three are a test of not only general knowledge but also memory, as the three remaining players answer brand new questions, but with the same 20 answers. The winner has the chance to gamble for a big cash prize in the final round, by answering new questions… with the same answers!

Is Terry Wogan To Leave BBC?

Terry Wogan may be on his last legs at the BBC he has revealed.

Terry, who recently turned 70 has admitted that he is considering leaving the Beeb before he becomes so old that they force him out.

The 70-year-old presenter has told the Daily Mail: ‘You really have to leave before they shut the door on you. The older you get the more conscious you become of that.’

Graham Norton Replaces Terry Wogan On Eurovision 2009

Graham Norton is set to replace Terry Wogan on this years Eurovision Song Contest.

Terry will stand down after presenting the show for 35 years, Wogan said he would be “sad to leave it all behind”.

He said: “I’ve had 35 wonderful years commentating on the Eurovision for radio and television.

“From my first, in a small musichall in Dublin, to my last, in the huge arena in Belgrade, it has been nothing but laughter and fun.

“The silly songs, the spectacle, the grandiose foolishness of it all.

Graham Norton To Replace Terry Wogan On Eurovision

Camp TV presenter, Graham Norton, is all set to replace Terry Wogan on Eurovision next year according to The Sun.

Terry recently announced that he would no longer be happy to present the BBC’s coverage of the competition after Andy Abrahams disappointment this year.

‘The BBC need an alternative and Graham is their man. He is currently talking to bosses about the Song For Europe show, which will run some time in March next year,’ said an insider to The Sun.

‘Execs have big plans for the show and want to make it more glitzy, with one eye on X Factor.’

Channel 4 Want Terry Wogan

Channel 4 are said to be trying to sign veteran TV presenter, Terry Wogan for a new Teatime show.

Terry is said to be filming a pilot of a quiz for the Richard And Judy teatime slot, as they are finishing with the channel this summer.

An insider said: “It’s a show which relies on people recalling past events.”
