In Somerset, Helen and her 18-year-old son, college student Jack, are living in eight years worth of hoarded clutter, making it impossible to even use the kitchen. In Blackburn, mum Yvonne is hoarding all the toys, videos and clothes from her children’s childhood, making it impossible for her youngest daughter to play. Psychotherapist Stelios Kiosses is convinced that you can’t just empty a hoarder’s home without dealing with the psychological reasons, so he puts Helen, Jack and Yvonne on his six-week treatment plan before sending in a team of professional de-clutterers.

The Hoarder Next Door is a brand new series about Britain’s growing number of extreme hoarders and their quest to cure themselves with the help of friends and family.
In each episode cameras follow the hoarders as they embark upon a unique six week treatment programme with psychotherapist Stelios Kiosses and his team of expert de-clutterers. The first episode features 55-year-old Nigel Jennings in Liverpool, whose only place to sit at home is his mattress – and even that isn’t completely safe.
