The Inbetweeners movie sequel WILL go ahead says writer Damon Beesley

Fans of The Inbetweeners movie may now whoop for joy because writer Damon Beesley has confirmed that plans for a sequel are well underway and it’s “all systems go.”

And according to the Sun, the stars of the film, Joe Thomas, James Buckley, Simon Bird and Blake Harrison – who of course also starred in the hugely successful TV series – can expect to net a Very Nice Thank You sum of £10million between them for their participation in the follow up movie.

Damon, who created the show alongside Iain Morris, said, “I don’t want to give too much away at this stage but yes, we have been developing an idea for a sequel.

“We miss working with Simon, Joe, James and even Blake too much not to give it a go…” Read more & comment »

A new Inbetweeners movie WILL go ahead in America – but will it be pants?

As fans of The Inbetweeners will most likely know, the hit comedy has been remade in the States and will premiere on MTV on August 20th.

However, it’s been revealed today that the show’s bosses are so certain the remake will be a hit with viewers, they’re planning a spin-off movie version, which of course mirrors the UK version.

In the UK film, the show’s characters went on holiday to Greece, and while the US movie version will be “inspired” by the British film, it may not even star the US cast members.

The US series stars Joey Pollari as Will McKenzie, Bubba Lewis as Simon Cooper, Zack Pearlman as Jay Cartwright and Mark L. Young as Neil Sutherland… Read more & comment »

Emily Head says she’ll “never” return to Magaluf after filming The Inbetweeners Movie there

22-year-old actress Emily Head, who stars as Carli D’Amato in E4 comedy The Inbetweeners, has revealed that she’ll “never” go back to Magaluf having filmed there for the show’s spin-off movie.

Emily revealed that during filming for The Inbetweeners Movie, the cast stayed in a £7.50-a-night hotel, which had no locks on the toilet doors.

She said, “I’d never go back to Magaluf! We filmed the movie there and the hotel we were staying in cost £7.50 a night.

“All the floors were wipe-clean and none of the bathrooms had any locks, presumably because people pass out in them. And the walls were so thick, you could hear everything.

“As for food, there was Mr Pizza Burger and things covered in gravy…” Read more & comment »

The Inbetweeners stars say success is a “double-edged sword”

Simon Bird and Joe Thomas, who of course star in The Inbetweeners, have revealed that the success of the show, and its spin-off movie, is a “double-edged sword” since they now fear anything else they do may not be as successful.

And specifically, Simon and Joe were referring to their new roles in ‘Chickens’, a comedy they co-wrote with Jonny Sweet, the pilot episode of which airs this Friday.

Speaking to What’s On TV, Simon said, “The Inbetweeners has opened a lot of doors for us.

“But at the same time, it is a double-edged sword because [Chickens] is obviously going to be judged in relation to the Inbetweeners – which is unfortunate because we want it to be judged on its own merits.” Read more & comment »

Greek fans love The Inbetweeners movie!

According to the Daily Star today, Greeks are big fans of The Inbetweeners movie, and have claimed that it’s going to be good for tourism in the area.

And though initially, some tourism executives feared it would only serve to harm the area’s reputation – which is already seen by some as a drinking and casual sex hotspot – others disagree.

However, the paper quotes a reviewer for Greek national paper Patris as saying, “The filming did not take place in Greece but in Mallorca and other Spanish locations, but the film no doubt constitutes advertising for our country.

The Inbetweeners cast doubt there’ll be a movie sequel

According to What’s On TV magazine, the cast of hit comedy The Inbetweeners have expressed doubts over the likelihood of a movie sequel.

As fans of the show will know, The Inbetweeners movie is now on general release, and has made box office records for a film of its genre.

However, Simon Bird, who of course plays Will, said, “I don’t think we’d do a 10-year reunion…

“I mean never say never, we might not have worked.”

And James Buckley who plays Jay, added, “We’ll be trying to get a 10-year reunion!” Read more & comment »

The Inbetweeners movie nets £13mn in just days!

The film spin-off of hit comedy The Inbetweeners has raked in around £13million in the first few days after going on general release in UK cinemas, making it the highest earning comedy movie to date.

The previous holder of that title was Bridget Jones: Edge Of Reason, which made £10.4 million in its first few days of screening.

Not long to wait now for the UK cinema release of The Inbetweeners Movie given it’s on general release from August 19th…

And today, a new trailer has been released which showsshows Will (Simon Bird), Simon (Joe Thomas), Jay (James Buckley) and Neil (Blake Harrison) off on a lads’ only holiday after graduating from sixth from.

Recurring characters from the TV series will also star, including, Emily Head, Belinda Stewart-Wilson and Greg Davies.

The Inbetweeners Movie is “final piece of the jigsaw” says Damon Beesley

Damon Beesley, The Inbetweeners writer, has told Empire magazine that the Inbetweeners movie is “the final piece of the jigsaw” in terms of what’s to become of the E4 characters.

Damon, who wrote the movie script alongside the show’s co-creator, Iain Morris, also revealed that it’s unlikely there would be further “adventures” for the characters of Will (Simon Bird), Jay (James Buckley), Simon (Joe Thomas) and Neil (Blake Sutherland).

Inbetweeners star James Buckley is to be a dad for the first time!

The 23-year-old actor – who plays sex-crazed teen Jay Cartwright in the E4 comedy – is expecting his first child with girlfriend of 10 months Clair Meek.

However, the cheeky chappie admitted while the pair are “chuffed” with the happy news, he can’t quite believe he had it in him to become a father.

James told The Sun newspaper: “Clair and I wanted to let everyone know we are having a baby.

“Chuffed to say it’s going brilliantly. All very exciting with ‘The Inbetweeners’ film out in August and baby out soon after that.

“Can’t quite believe my luck. Didn’t think I had it in me!”

Model Clair recently admitted James “couldn’t be more different” to his cocky ‘Inbetweeners’ alter-ego, and the couple would much rather spend a night in front of the TV than going out partying. Read more & comment »
