bruce willis

Fans of BBC’s The One Show will know that hosts Matt Baker and Alex Jones conducted an interview with US legend Bruce Willis that might have been subtitled, Pulling Teeth or I Wish I Was Dead as the actor ignored questions and appeared as though he’d rather be just about anywhere else.

In fact, the only time he became at all animated during the entire cringe making proceedings was when he criticized the name of the movie he was there to promote, A Good Day to Die Hard.

The Mirror reports that while writing on the BBC’s Points of View forum about the hideously awkward interview, one viewer remarked, “It’s not often that I feel sorry for Matt and Alex but this was torture… Read more & comment »

In particular – and while discussing the issue with the House of Commons Culture, Media and Sport Committee – Thompson referenced Jeremy’s remarks on a recent edition of The One Show, in which he claimed that striking workers “should be shot.”

His other recent booboos have included branding suicide victims as “selfish” for holding up public transport by jumping in front of trains.

However, it was his remark over the strikers that attracted the most criticism, landing some 32,000 complaints at the door of BBC execs… Read more & comment »

Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson apologises for his One Show rant

Having said that he won’t apologise for saying the striking workers should be shot, Jeremy Clarkson has backtracked and apologised…

However, his sense of humour prevailed and he told the Sun that he was actually apologizing for saying he didn’t like sparrows!

He said, “I caused grave offence. I hope people can find it in their hearts to forgive me.”

But joking aside, he did then apologise for his “shoot them all” remark, which sparked 4,800 complaints to flood in to the BBC.

Dave Prentis, the general secretary of Unison, threatened legal action and demanded that Jeremy be fired for saying, “Frankly, I’d have them all shot. I would take them outside and execute them in front of their families…” Read more & comment »

He said, “I’d have them all shot. I would take them outside and execute them in front of their families.

“I mean, how dare they go on strike when they have got these gilt-edged pensions that are going to be guaranteed while the rest of us have to work for a living?”

Of course, he meant his remarks to be a joke, but not everybody took it to be one, and hosts Matt Baker and Alex Jones apologizing profusely to viewers… Read more & comment »
