Outgoing timelord David Tennant is set to make a special appearance on spin off show The Sarah Jane Adventures.
Russell Davies told the BBC that Tennant’s stint will be a full appearance and not a minor cameo.
Elisabeth Sladen plays Sarah Jane and starred in Doctor Who with Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker between 1973 and 1976. She said she was “absolutely over the moon” to now be co-starring alongside Tennant.
The Sarah Jane Adventures writer Phil Ford has claimed that the Sontaran who appeared in this season’s premiere episode was the best Sontaran ever!
“Commander Kaagh is the last survivor of the task force that attacked Earth in ‘The Sontaran Stratagem’… [and] we haven’t seen a Sontaran like this before,” he told Doctor Who Magazine. “He’s got a few tricks up his sleeve and he was just fantastic to write for.” Read more & comment »

CBBC have announced the return of Doctor Who spinoff show, The Sarah Jane Adventures to CBBC this week, for a second series. Also returning is M.I. High, from the makers of hit drama, Spooks.
New dramas which will hit the channel will include, Half Moon Investigations about crime, corruption and general wrong doing in the school playground; We Are Family (working title), following the colourful and heart-warming comedic adventures of a singing family who are a talk show’s resident pop group; Roy, the story of an extraordinary cartoon boy marooned in the real world; and Paradise Café, a beachside mystery with a supernatural twist.
