For the very first time, the world’s favourite animated family The Simpsons will make a special channel premiere on Sky2 in a brand new late night slot. May 9th is national doughnut week and to celebrate this, The Simpsons fans will be able to catch Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie on Sky 2 from Monday 11th May at 10pm for two weeks only. So prepare to laugh out loud as the quick wit and anarchic adventures commence.

Sky1 have confirmed that for the first time in its 20 year history, The Simpsons would premiere an episode in the UK and Ireland. This St Patrick’s Day, Sky1 will present the worldwide premiere of a brand new episode a week before it reaches the States.
The episode is titled ‘In the Name of the Grandfather’ and will form the centre-piece of an Irish themed night of entertainment on Sky1, including further Irish escapades for everyone’s favourite yellow family in the episode Sex, Pies and Idiot Scrapes. So sit back, crack open a Guinness and enjoy The Simpsons unique satirical humour, a whole week before the Yanks.

When you think ‘cartoon’, you might also think ‘for kids’ but the happy fact is, there are lots of them around that are most definitely adult humour. For example, Family Guy and South Park are not at all little-kid-friendly but some can be watched by both children and grown ups, such as The Simpsons and Charlie Brown.
There’s also King of the Hill and Futurama which contains jokes and one-liners kids wouldn’t necessarily understand but adults would.
Family Guy is my most favourite, closely followed by South Park, so these are the ones we’ll take a look at. Both are famed for their irreverent humour and sometimes obscene or insulting subject matter. I think the reason I love them so much is that they don’t care at all about political correctness; in fact, they seem to go out of their way to jump all over it.

Speaking to CNN news, Simpsons creators, Matt Groening and Al Jean have said that they will continue to make The Simpsons for as long as people enjoy it.
“No end in sight! No end in sight!” Groening said. “We’re having fun, we hope the audience has fun, and as long as that’s true, we’ll continue doing the show.”
Al Jean added: “In terms of new episodes, we’re doing another season after the movie comes out for sure, and then the casts’ contracts expire, but I’d love to get another three seasons and maybe another movie.”
