ITV are reported to be planning to replace seasoned newsreader, Trevor McDonald with a younger sexier newsreader when he leaves News At Ten next month.

Sir Trevor is planning to leave the newly launched show after the US presidential elections. His seat will be filled by Mark Austin.

TV veteran, Sir Trevor McDonald has been cleared of making a racist remark about comedian Bernard Manning, despite more than 100 complaints to Ofcom.

Sir Trevor referred to former comedian, Bernard Manning as a “fat white ba****d” on his Newsnight show, but OFCOM ruled that this was “clearly intended to parody Manning’s own comedy”.

Any offence caused “was justified in the context”, Ofcom ruled.
