True Blood was pretty eventful last night and we still aren’t over the fact that Sookie and Alcide hooked up again.

In this week’s episode the werewolf will be at the fore of all the action again, as Bill and Eric continue on their search for Russell Edgington and enlist the hairy one’s help.

The vampires have until dawn to find the former king and while they first approach psychic Sookie for assistance in finding his hiding place, they end up taking assistance from their love rival.

Bill and Eric may have escaped the true death but their reprieve came at a cost and now the pair must find Russell Edgington for the vampire authority.

In the upcoming fourth episode of the fifth season of the HBO vampire drama, the pair begin their search for the evil monster, who they had previously thought to be encased in concrete but they are unsure they they can survive if they come up in battle against their former king.

The former enemies start by trying to deduce who assisted Russell in his escape and Eric’s attention first falls to his – at least until now – loyal assistant Pam, who is horrified that her maker suspects her of a crime that could lead to his downfall.

We only have a few more days to wait for the new season of True Blood and this morning, we have come across a few more details about the new run.

The fifth series is just about to kick off for American viewers and will start on June 10th, on HBO. Denis O’Hare was chatting with Zap2it at the launch of the new run and he revealed to the website that his character – the evil and newly resurrected Russell Edgington – may be about to find love.

We are only a few weeks away from the return of our favourite vampire drama and HBO have once again kept us interested by releasing a great promo for the fifth season of True Blood.

There is no actual footage or real dialogue in the clip, however we get a feel for the dark side of the new episodes, as everyone is seen weeping – some real human tears and some tears of vampire blood – in the video.

We got a first look at Christopher Meloni as a vampire last week, courtesy of a new promo picture released by HBO and today, the US TV network have put out a new video promo featuring the actor in his new role.

When True Blood returns for it’s fifth season next month, the former Law and order star will take on the role of Roman, an ‘incredibly powerful’ figure from the vampire authority, who will hold the fate of show favourites Bill and Eric in his hands.

We revealed earlier this year that Christopher Meloni would be joining True Blood for it’s fifth season and this morning, we have the first picture of the actor in his new role.

The 51 year old is best known as NYPD Detective Elliot Stabler on the NBC police drama Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and as inmate Chris Keller on the HBO prison drama Oz, however on the hit HBO drama, he will take on the role of sinister leader of Vampire Authority.

The fifth season of True Blood is still weeks away but the teasers are coming thick and fast.

Earlier this week we brought you a first look at the sister of Eric, a vampire named Nora who will be played by Lucy Griffiths. Read more about that storyline here.

Then we brought you another great promo, in which Eric accused his loyal assistant Pam of being the one behind the escape of evil Russell Edginton and told her that he can no longer trust anyone around him.

Eric will be back to his old suspicious self in the fifth season of True Blood it would seem.

In a brand new promo released by HBO, the vampire sheriff is seen growing suspicious of his previously loyal and dedicated assistant Pam and accused her of being the one responsible for Russell Edgington’s escape.

The series four finale contained a series of cliffhangers, including a warning from the ghost of Rene that Terry will cause Arlene trouble, the reappearance of Steve Newlin as a vampire, the shooting of Tara and lastly the escape of Russell from his cement grave.

In the next episode of True Blood, which is entitled ‘Burning Down the House’, when all hell breaks loose in Shreveport, Sookie must summon her most potent powers to save Bill, and in the process, she has to break a spell and Marnie must re-evaluate her mission.

Also, in Burning Down the House, Terry drags Andy to Fort Bellefleur for an intervention, while Alcide reconsiders his alliances after Marcus’s fight with Tommy.

In addition, Jesus, along with Sookie, Lafayette and Jason, tries to breach the Moongoddess Emporium’s defenses to liberate Tara and Holly, and finally, Bill leads a brigade of vampires committed to blowing the place to kingdom come.

In the next episode of True Blood, which airs on July 17 on HBO, Alcide helps Sookie hunt for Eric, while Marnie searches for guidance to break a spell.

In the last instalment, we saw Bon Temps own psychic promising to hide Eric, as long as didn’t feed on her. However, judging by the clip below, we think he may be about to break his oath.

True Blood returns to US TV screens this Sunday for the second episode of the fourth season and we’ve brought you another few brilliant promo clips today.

The episode titled ‘You Smell Like Dinner’ features Sookie, making the startling revelation that Bill is now living in a fancy new revamped house and has surprisingly become the new vampire king. He even has a new woman in his bedroom, which comes as quite a shock to our favourite psychic!
