Lindsay Lohan has revealed that she will miss working on the set of Ugly Betty as filming for her guest appearance on the show draws to an end.

“It’s been such a delight to be a part of this show,” she wrote on MySpace. “Two days left of my shoot on Ugly Betty – I am quite sad to have to leave the wonderful cast and crew behind. It’s always sad to leave people that you get close to.”

Lohan plays a mean former classmate of Betty (America Ferrera) on the show.

Michael Lurie who plays camp Marc St James in hit US comedy, Ugly Betty, was only meant to star in the shows pilot and should have been dropped after his first epsiode.

Michael said: “The original idea was for Wilhelmina to fire her assistant every week and hire a new one.

“I only had a few scenes in the pilot but I decided to do as much as I could with the part and Vanessa Williams, who plays Wilhelmina, was a major support from the beginning,” he told Manchester Evening News. Read more & comment »

Many of you have been bugging me about when you can expect Channel 4 to continue with Desperate Housewives season four.

As most of you know, the series was cut short earlier this year due to the infamous American writers strike, and the last wee saw of Wisteria Lane was a street that had been ravaged by a tornado. However the rest of the series will hit Channel 4 on Wednesday September 3rd.

Other good news is that Ugly Betty will return on Friday of the same week.

Thank the lord! TV has been so boring this summer, with these two show starting and the X Factor, my Sky + will actually be busy again!

Victoria Beckham has reportedly been lined up for a second guest appearance on US TV show, Ugly Betty.

The Spice Girl appeared on the show last year as one of Wilhelmina Slater’s bridesmaids, and bosses were said to be so impressed with her performance (or the hype it generated!) that they asked her to return.

Ugly Betty actress, Vanessa Williams shas insisted that she is nothing like her on screen character, Wilhelmina Slater.

“Who am I in comparison to Wilhelmina? Look at me – I’m wearing Hudson jeans and an Urban Outfitters T-shirt,” the 45-year-old told the New York Daily News.

“I have four kids, and I go back to New York as needed. I don’t have time to be anything like Wilhelmina Slater. This is my life. I just dropped my daughter off at school. I’m wrangling dogs and dealing with movers. The Brownie cookie sales are due tomorrow. There’s never a dull moment.”

Ugly Betty star Vanessa Williams has spoken out to quash all rumours that Victoria Beckham was a diva an difficult to work with, whilst filming her cameo appearance on the hit US TV show.

“Victoria Beckham was fabulous. When she shot my (Wilhelmina Slater’s) wedding episode she worked all day,” said Vanessa.

TV Guide.com has reported that actress Gabrielle Union has signed a deal to play Wilhelmina’s younger sister on ABC’s Ugly Betty.

The character — Dominique — is described as a relentless party animal who has a skeleton rattling around in her closet.

The role was initially supposed to be recurring, but due to the writers strike, Union’s only booked for one episode.

Reports have emerged that troubled starlet, Lindsay Lohan is considering joining the cast of hit US TV show, Ugly Betty.

The New York Observer has revealed that Lohan is in “serious talks” with show producers about joining the show for three episodes, in which she would play a failed beauty queen working at a New York fast food outlet.

A source told the newspaper:

“Everyone’s very excited, of course it brings a lot of attention to the show, and it’s a great part for Lindsay.”

“It sounds really cute,” the spy continued.

“Betty tries to help Lindsay’s character by getting her a job at Mode, the fashion magazine where she works on the show.”

I suppose no one could be worse than Victoria Beckham!

NBC pulled off a master stroke in marketing this weekend, when they placed a wedding announcement for Ugly Betty’s Wilhelmina Slater and Bradford Meade.

The announcement read:

Wilhelmina Vivian Slater, Creative Director at MODE Magazine, will marry Bradford Emerson Meade, media mogul and chairman of Meade Publications, on Thursday, November 8 at 8pm. To prevent excessive press coverage, the location of the wedding is not being released, but it will be covered exclusively on the ABC Television Network.

Ms. Slater works in New York as the Creative Director of MODE Magazine. She is a former supermodel who started in the fashion business as the assistant to former MODE editor-in-chief Fey Sommers. Ms. Slater is the daughter of the esteemed Senator Slater. She has one daughter, 17-year old Nico Slater, who is currently attending boarding school in France. The bride will be wearing a custom-designed Vera Wang gown for the ceremony and will be attended to by close friend, global fashion icon and pop superstar Victoria Beckham.

Mr. Meade, 60, is the founder and CEO of Meade Publications. He has 2 children, eldest son-turned-daughter Alexis and New York bachelor Daniel Meade, both currently co-editors-in-chief of MODE. Mr. Meade’s previous marriage to Claire Meade, the co-founder and co-owner of MODE Magazine ended in divorce in May 2007.

Snoop Dogg has become the latest celebrity to agree to guest star in hit US sitcom, Ugly Betty.

Snoop Dogg will play himself in the episode and will get trapped in an elevator with Betty. Later in the show, Snoop will return to entertain the guests of a Fashion Show Daniel and Betty are throwing!

The epsiode airs in the USofA on the 13th of December.

Ugly Betty star America Ferrera is to be named Hispanic Woman of the Year at the Hispanic Women in Entertainment breakfast next week.

The event is being organised by US publications Billboard and the Hollywood Reporter, Publisher John Kilcullen explained: “[Ferrera] is a leader for all women, but especially those in the Hispanic community.
