Former Eastenders actress, Zoe Lucker, has landed a new role in BBC’s Waterloo Road.

Lucker, who played Vanessa Gold, the volatile former fiancee of Max Branning (Jake Wood) in the award-winning BBC soap, is joining the cast as  Carol Barry, a prisoner’s wife with an over-flowing back catalogue of personal misery.

Former EastEnders star Zoe Lucker has revealed that she thinks Eddie Moon (David Essex) did the right thing in dumping her character, Vanessa Gold.

As viewers will know, when Eddie left the Square to go and live with his eldest son Frankie in Spain, he ended his relationship with Vanessa by rather brutally leaving her at the roadside.

Speaking while on BBC3’s EastEnders: The New Moons, Zoe said, “Eddie did the right thing in leaving Vanessa, because he can’t trust her.

“As much as I would have loved to have seen Vanessa and Eddie run off into the sunset, I appreciate why Eddie did that.” Read more & comment »

EastEnders star Zoe Lucker felt so sad about leaving the show, she couldn’t bring herself to celebrate her departure.

However, Zoe has told Inside Soap magazine that she’s now planning on inviting the cast and crew of the show to share a few drinks with her by way of a leaving party.

Zoe, who of course plays Vanessa Gold on the show, said, “My last day on set was so sad.

“I worked closely with everyone, and of course we became really friendly.

“Not just the actors, but the crew as well. There was a sadness about saying goodbye to Vanessa, but there was also a real sadness about leaving such a friendly place… Read more & comment »

EastEnders star Zoe Lucker has revealed that she loved filming the scenes in which her character, Vanessa Gold, had a “meltdown” and trashed Max Branning’s (Jake Wood) living room.

Digital Spy report that Zoe made her remarks while appearing on BBC1 chat show, The One Show, and added, “It was really good fun, actually, doing that!

“It was one of those things where as a person, you think, ‘It’d be quite nice at times to be able to just completely trash a room!’

In forthcoming episodes of EastEnders, we’ll see Vanessa Gold (Zoe Lucker) getting ever closer to Eddie Moon (David Essex) as she schemes with Eddie’s son Michael (Steve John Shepherd) to ruin his life.

As fans of the show will know, Eddie has been dating Carol Jackson (Lynsey Coulson) but as the above spoiler pic shows, Eddie’s found himself under Vanessa’s spell, much to Michael’s delight.
