We all knew it would only be a matter of time, now that Wendy Crozier was back on the scene, before Ken Barlow’s eye would wander in Coronation Street, and this may just well be the proof that it does!

Fans of the hit ITV soap will know how many moons ago, Ken’s (William Roache) marriage to Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride) was left in tatters following an affair he had with Crozier, damage that both he and Deirdre considered irreparable at the time.

As fans of Coronation Street will know, scheming Tracy Barlow has been dating Ryan Connor (Sol Heras) with the sole intention of annoying his mum – and Tracy’s love rival – Michelle (Kym Marsh).

However, her scheme is about to backfire royally when she discovers that she’s pregnant with Ryan’s baby! But when she’s given it some thought, she’s set to realise that it’s the icing on her Annoy Michelle cake!

Kate Ford, who of course plays Tracy, has been talking about the plotline to new! magazine, saying, “Tracy doesn’t act like a regular person. She does something, then thinks about it later.

“To her, the baby news is great timing. She’s now holding all the cards.”

Coronation Street residents Ken and Deirdre Barlow are both recidivist adulterers who’ve had more affairs than they’ve had hot dinners, so it shouldn’t come as any surprise to Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride) when she once again catches hubby Ken with another woman…

But she is both surprised and shocked when she follows Ken – after suspecting he’s up to something – and sees him paying a visit to his former mistress Wendy Crozier!

Wendy (Roberta Kerr) and Ken (Bill Roache) had an affair over twenty years ago, and since then, Wendy’s been married and widowed but she and Ken renewed their acquaintance as both battled for a place on the Board of Governors of Bessie Street Primary. Though quite why I can’t imagine given that neither have young children. But hey ho.

As fans of Corrie will most likely know, actress Roberta Kerr has made a cobbles comeback after more than twenty years away in the role of Ken Barlow’s former mistress, Wendy Crozier.

However, when we see Wendy again in forthcoming episodes, we’ll discover that after her affair with Ken, she got married – and is now Mrs Papadopolous – and for a while, she moved away from Manchester.

Speaking to Soaplife about the role, and if there’s any chance of a rekindling of the romance between Ken (Bill Roache) and Wendy, Roberta began by explaining how Wendy bumps into Ken again.

She said, “Wendy’s Vice Chair of the Bessie Street School Governors and Head teacher Brian Packham [Peter Gunn] has asked Ken to be on the governing body which is unbeknown to Wendy.
