Work again tomorrow so make the most of this Sunday and indulge yourself in a few telly treats including some great nostalgic films, Peter Kay’s new series and some fascinating documentaries. My absolute highlight though is Fringe on Sky 1. Don’t miss it if you can humanly avoid it!
Here are out top telly tips for tonight…
Dr Dolittle 2, Channel 4, 6.25pm ~ Eddie Murphy reprises his role as the talented vet, this time aiming to prevent an important conservation site from falling into the hands of evil land developers and improve a bear’s love life in the process. Comedy sequel that is nowhere near as good as the original with Kevin Pollak and the voices of Steve Zahn, Lisa Kudrow and Isaac Hayes.
The American Future: A History, by Simon Schama, BBC2, 7pm ~ Simon Schama travels through America to dig deep into the conflicts of its history as a way to understand the country’s contemporary political situation. He explores how American optimism is in danger of coming to a grinding halt and looks at the reasons why. A great show if you fancy a little kip until something more interesting comes on!

I’m really excited about tonight’s telly because it’s the beginning of the live rounds on X Factor! I just hope it doesn’t end up being delayed because right before it is England v Kazakhstan Live from 4.30pm. Still, at least it’s not clashing with Strictly!
Strictly Come Dancing, BBC1, 5.50pm ~ The battle of the dance-floor divas continues as the remaining seven female celebs and their professional partners perform either a rumba or a quickstep to stay on the show. They’ll be hoping to win over the judges and secure the viewers votes, while the men show off their skills in a group dance.

Friday again! That seemed to come round very fast, thankfully. So the weekend starts here and I’m especially looking forward to the Secret Policeman’s Ball which is on tonight at 10.50pm.
Here’s what else is worth a look tonight…
Will & Grace, Living, 7pm ~ Bacon and Eggs: This is one of the funniest episodes of Will & Grace and is immediately followed by another. After stalking actor Kevin Bacon, Jack lands his dream job when the unsuspecting celebrity hires him as his personal assistant and Dr Leo Markus makes Grace a tempting offer. With Harry Connick Jnr and Rip Torn.
An Island Parish, BBC2, 7pm ~ Unchartered Waters: Four of the islanders prepare to depart for America as part of their mission to row across the Atlantic from New York back home to Scilly. The Rev David makes a rare trip to the mainland to achieve a long-held dream and the islanders come up with fund-raising ideas to stop vet Heike from having to leave.

Well, it’s nearly Friday – just one day to go, and we’ve got the epic documentary about Blackadder on tonight. I’ve been looking forward to it all week as we’ll get to relive some of Slackbladder’s funniest moments.
Here’s what else is on…
James May’s Big Ideas, BBC2, 7pm ~ Man-Machine: The Top Gear presenter investigates modern robotics to see if technology has caught up with his childhood expectation of seeing androids taking on domestic tasks. After a disturbing encounter with a robot designed to look and act exactly like its creator, he finds the world’s most advanced model still has some way to go before it is generally available. Plus, the science behind a real-life bionic woman.

It’s a good night on telly tonight, especially for crime dramas, cookery shows and my personal highlight, the start of Sunshine, a new comedy drama starring Steve Coogan.
Let’s take a look at what we recommend you have a squiz at…
Hairy Bikers Come Home, BBC2, 7pm ~ The hairy bikers travel to an area that they feel has been under-represented on cookery shows; the North of England. It was obviously filmed long before Jamie’s Ministry set up camp in Rotherham! Tonight, Cumbrian Dave shows Simon Mrs Green’s pie shop, and Simon takes Dave to Newcastle’s fish quay. They experience a proper Lancashire hotpot at Bury Market, chicken breast stuffed with Cumberland sausage on the Pennines and the ultimate fish pie. They also find time to try some fun at an ice rink and Dave in lurex doing an Abba tribute is a sight not to be missed!

Tonight sees the start of some big storylines in the soaps, as well as the continuation of the Where’s Rosie saga but if soaps aren’t your idea of a good night in, we’ve got a few alternative viewing choices too! The absolute don’t miss tonight is the concluding part of Place of Execution at 9pm on ITV1.
Emmerdale, ITV1, 7pm ~ Tonight, Jo confides in Debbie about the full extent of Andy’s abusive behaviour and reveals her plan to leave him. Jasmine’s journalistic instincts convince her to pursue Shane in the hope of finding information about drug crime for an article, while Matthew finds himself falling for Anna’s charms. As it’s going to be pretty chilly out tonight, I suggest you settle down for a good night in with the telly and again, we’re spoiled for choice in the 9pm slot, so you may need to Sky+ some of the programmes!
Emmerdale, ITV1, 7pm ~ Over in Yorkshire tonight, Marlon hopes to cheer Donna up by buying her a new dress and taking her to the police ball, but later, when he gets involved in a fight, she ends up leaving with Ross. Katie’s annoyed when she finds out that Nicola is working at Home Farm and Donald warns Anna against mixing business with pleasure.

Well I don’t know what the weather might be doing where you are, but here in Derbyshire it’s windy, cold and miserable; which in fact is a relatively good description of the man I stood behind in a queue at Tesco this morning, but anyway, I shall be having an evening in with the fire on, a glass of vino and sole charge of the remote.
Here’s what’s on offer and it’s yet again a good night’s telly but my highlight is The Family at 9pm. It’s also Heroes night with no less than three shows on BBC2 to herald in the new series.
Let’s take a look at what else is on…
Heroes Coundown, BBC2, 7pm ~ As part of the countdown to the third series of Heroes which begins at 9pm, this special programme treats viewers to sneak peeks of the new series, behind the scenes footage and an introduction to new characters. Plus, interviews with stars of the show and celebrity fans attending the premiere party. Read more & comment »

Well, it’s Monday again but that does mean that the fabulous Place of Execution is on at 9pm, so it makes up a lot for seeing the back of another all too brief weekend! There’s some great viewing on offer tonight, and here’s what we recommend you take a squiz at…
Emmerdale, ITV1, 7pm ~ Eli is stunned when he hears the truth about Danielle. Andy lies to Jo about going to anger management classes and a furious Donna hears that Ross interfered in her life. Read more & comment »

It’s another great night in this Sunday and in the 9pm slot, we’re especially spoiled for choice, with two great dramas and several films to choose from, but here’s what we reckon might keep you out of mischief tonight…
The Great Russian Art Boom, Channel 4, 6.30pm ~ If you’re feeling all high brow tonight, this is the show for you! Writer Marcel Theroux gets access to the notoriously private world of Russia’s super-wealthy to investigate the enormous impact they are having on the art establishment. Meeting experts and collectors, he discovers Russian art is no longer a niche market, with the wealthy elite reclaiming their heritage by purchasing pieces that were sold off during the Communist era. It’s Friday! Yay! The weekend begins here and there’s a great line-up on telly tonight so get a glass of wine – or a bottle in your case… we know what Unreality Primetime readers are like – a takeaway and sit back and let your goggle box entertain you. Here’s the best of tonight’s telly…
The Real Monarch of the Glen, BBC2, 7pm ~ This series follows the real life trials and tribulations of running a country estate. Summer should be the busiest time of the year at Alladale, but the shooting season’s over and the Highland Safaris have been abandoned. Paul meets with the Alladale trustees to discuss how they can cut costs while Chris makes an unpleasant discovery about the pigs. Is there any other kind where pigs are concerned? Plus, outdoor enthusiast Cameron McNeish doesn’t approve of the five-mile fence on the estate. Some lovely scenery in this programme too.

There’s a great selection of horror and thriller films on tonight as well as a real life horror story – in my opinion anyway – about the growing ‘purity movement’ in Cutting Edge’s Virgin Daughters at 9pm. So on with tonight’s telly offerings…
Emmerdale, ITV1, 7.30pm ~ In Yorkshire tonight, Eli wants Danielle to leave so he sets her up with a place in a local hostel but the lady has other ideas and won’t go that easily! Nicola tries desperately to make amends with Rodders and Ashley hears that the church may close. Read more & comment »

Tonight there’s a great telly line up which sees the second part of The Family and a whole host of other great shows including one of my favourite films, Walk The Line. So here are our top telly tips for Wednesday…
Emmerdale, ITV1, 7pm ~ In tonight’s episode, Matthew agrees to give Nicola a job, but only if she can drum up some new clients before the end of the day. Eli realises that getting rid of Danielle isn’t going to be easy and Ashley is alarmed when Laurel nods off during one of his sermons. Read more & comment »

Tonight’s telly is a pretty good line-up with something for everyone, but I’m most looking forward to watching O Brother Where Art Thou? It’s a great film and I annoy my family no end by singing along – badly – to all the tracks in it!
Emmerdale, ITV1, 7pm ~ In tonight’s hour long dose of Yorkshire action, Debbie accepts Eli’s proposal but insists it’s a marriage of convenience. However their plans may soon run into trouble, as does Eli. David and Nicola go house hunting and Anna makes Nicola an offer she can’t refuse. Read more & comment »
