What a treat fans of Doctor Who are in for this week, not only is it the return of the famously talented fantasy writer Neil Gaiman to the hit BBC family sci-fi entertainment show, but it is also the return of the infamous Cybermen!
Guest starring Life’s Too Short star Warwick Davis, former EastEnder Tamzin Outhwaite, Jason Watkins, and Will Merrick, Nightmare In Silver will see current Time Lord Matt Smith and his new companion, Clara Oswald (Jenna-Louise Coleman) heading for Webley’s World of Wonders, set for a day of theme park fun, but what they actually get is a little bit more scary!

You may have noticed that my Broadchurch review is a little later this week. That’s because there are no preview copies of the last two episodes of Broadchurch available to journalists. While it means I can’t release my review right after transmission, it does mean that I can experience all of the revelations along with everyone else. After watching tonight’s instalment I can see exactly why there were no advance previews as this episode was crammed full of revelations.

Those who read my review of last week’s edition of Broadchurch knew that I thought it was a bit of a let-down. After a stunning opener, Broadchurch lost some of its realism by introducing a psychic telephone engineer and a plot involving cocaine. Thankfully I felt tonight’s episode was a return to form even though it did feature the telephone engineer once again. It also felt fairly focused this week as it mainly featured the investigation into whether Mark Latimer killed his son.

It seems that, after last week’s opening episode, most of you seem to really enjoy Broadchurch describing it as fabulous and gripping. I personally love the realism of the piece and especially the characters’ reactions to the death of young Danny Latimer. However there was one incredibly far-fetched moment this week which took the realism away from Broadchurch for the first time.

Fans of BBC3 comedy White Van Man will doubtless be annoyed to hear that the BBC has axed the show.
The show – which was written by Adrian Poynton – starred Two and a Half Pints actor Will Mellor as the show’s main protagonist, Ollie, who took over his ailing dad Tony’s (Clive Mantle) handyman business.
And it seems that the news of the show’s cancellation will come as something of a surprise to Will, who recently told Digital Spy that a third series was in the pipeline.
He said, “We’re already story-lining [series three] so we’re definitely heading towards that.”
However, Adrian Poynton has confirmed the show’s cancellation, and he told The British Comedy Guide that the reason White Van Man was axed was due to BBC Three wanting to “take its comedy output in another direction”. Read more & comment »

A rather astonishing report from the Daily Star today claims that In With The Flynns star Will Mellor – who formerly starred in Two Pints Of Lager – is “helping” devastated Rhodri Giggs get over the fact that his wife Natasha had had an affair with Rhodri’s brother, Ryan Giggs…
However, the paper claims that Will has also had an affair with Natasha!
According to the paper, Natasha’s former college friends have told how Natasha bragged that she’d slept with Will.
One said, “She was absolutely over the moon. She was so excited she could hardly get the words out.
“Natasha’s dream was always to meet somebody rich and famous… Read more & comment »

Will Mellor, Warren Clarke, Niky Wardley and Craig Parkinson star in a new six-part comedy for BBC One about what real family life is like when you’re holding down jobs, raising three kids and having to deal with an irresponsible brother and cantankerous dad.
In With The Flynns is a warm, authentic, half-hour comedy series made by Caryn Mandabach Productions for BBC One. Will Mellor and Niky Wardley play Liam and Caroline Flynn, Mancunians in their early thirties who are raising their three children and holding down jobs. It’s tough – and even tougher because they’re still growing up themselves.

Former Hollyoaks star Will Mellor, who played lovable rogue Jambo, has told What’s On TV that he thinks the show is now “very different” to how it was before he left in 1998.
Will, who went on to star in the hit sitcom ‘Two Pints Of Lager And A Packet Of Crisps’, added that it was unlikely that he’d ever be tempted to return to the Chester based soap.
He said, “I went back for an episode; a Christmas special… Read more & comment »

When Will Mellor first read the script for White Van Man he was taken aback not only by the quality of the writing – given that it was a new writer – but also by the name on the page: Adrian Poynton, who was the warm-up man for BBC Three’s long-running successful sitcom, Two Pints Of Lager And A Packet Of Crisps, starring Will. Will was delighted to see his name on the script and that his old colleague is now a success in his own right.
“It amazed me that it was Adrian’s writing,” Will tells Programme Information’s Sarah Ward. “It came off the page so easily, which is sometimes difficult when you get a new writer. It sometimes takes a long time to get that across.

Actor Will Mellor was rushed to hospital after a stunt he was performing went wrong.
Mellor was filming for the BBC Three sitcom Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps and was required to slide across a car bonnet. He did so and landed badly, damaging his knee ligaments.
He told The Sun: “I landed badly and my knee just gave way. I hit the floor like a sack of potatoes. I did the scene in one take though, so the director was happy!

Former Hollyoaks actor, Will Mellor, has described his role in the second episode of Merlin as his dream job. In the episode Mellor played evil Knight Valiant and I didn’t actually think he did the role any justice whatsoever.
“It was phenomenal, what dreams are made of,” Mellor told the Manchester Evening News. “I had a great character to play, with horse riding and sword fighting in a stunning setting.”
However the high temperatures in Paris posed a problem during filming for Mellor due to his bulky costume. Read more & comment »

Ex Hollyoaks actor, Will Mellor has confirmed that they will be filming an eighth series of BBC Three comedy, ‘Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps.’
Mellor, who plays Gaz Wilkinson in the show, told Metro: “Every series ends with what seems like the very final episode, just in case the cast don’t want to do another one. We film it from November to January, which is a dead period in television so we’re all around to do it.”
He admitted that filming a live episode in the last series had been a hair-raising experience, saying: “After the event it was great but beforehand we were terrified. They made me juggle flaming batons and then eat fire. I burnt the s**t out of my tongue. Then I had to ride a mini motorbike. Read more & comment »
