We love it here at Unreality TV when art mirror’s life in the soap world, and nothing does it better than when two soap actors fall in love after the camera turns off.

In EastEnders you have the young relationships of co-stars Matt Lapinskas (Anthony Moon) and Shona McGarty (Whitney Dean) and the more recent romance between Tony Discipline (Tyler Moon) and Jacqueline Jossa (Lauren Branning).  In Emmerdale there is the bizarre real life marriage between Jeff Hordley (Cain Dingle) and Zoe Henry (Rhona the vet) and the engagement between Charley Webb (Debbie Dingle) and Matthew Wolfenden (David Metcalfe).

In Coronation Street the path of true love doesn’t run quite so smooth, with all off-screen romances resulting in one half leaving the show, like Samia Ghadie (Maria Connor) and Will Thorp (Chris the wife-beater) and Ryan Thomas (Jason Grimshaw) and Tina O’Brien (Sarah Louise Grimshaw), who spilt up not long after O’Brien’s departure.

As fans of Coronation Street will know, Chris Gray – who’s played by Will Thorp – has been receiving treatment for a brain tumour…

However, he’s responded well to treatment, and whereas it was once feared that he would die, doctors have now told him that he should make a complete recovery, but he hasn’t told his ex, Cheryl that.

Chris is hoping to win Cheryl (Holly Quin-Ankrah) back, even if it’s only because she pities him, and he thinks if he told her the truth about his illness, his chance to get her back would be missed.

With life expectancy short in all soaps due to low ratings and disasters involving planes, trains and auto mobiles, Samia Smith can breathe a sigh of relief, as bosses at ITV have just offered her another year extension to her contract.

The actress, who recently split from her husband following the birth of their first child Freya, revealed to the Manchester News that her contract has been extended and that she couldn’t be happier to be sticking around for the foreseeable.

Chris Gray is set to leave the streets of Weatherfield and today it has been revealed what storyline will surround his exit.

The badboy builder is currently dating hairdressing beauty Maria Connor, but as ITV bosses plan to dispense of both Chris (Will Thorp), his ex partner Cheryl (Holly Quin-Ankrah) and their son Russ (Finton Flynn) he is set to dump the mum of one and reunite with his family, when he gets some devastating news.

A consultant will confirm that Chris has an inoperable brain tumour and has only months to live.

Coronation Street bosses have reportedly decided to sack four actors from the ITV soap.

Both The People and The News Of The World claim that producers will soon write out Holly Quin-Ankrah, Will Thorp and Finton Flynn – better known as Cheryl, Chris and Russ Gray.

Blonde beauty Sacha Parkinson (Sian Powers) is also though to be on her way out and will reportedly leave Weatherfield in early 2012.

It’s being reported today that just weeks after announcing her split from husband Matthew Smith, Samia Smith – who of course plays Maria Connor – is secretly dating her co-star Will Thorp, who plays bad lad Chris Gray.

Will has also recently had a breakdown in his marriage and he and his wife Samantha agreed to divorce shortly before Christmas.

However, it seems both Samia and Will insist that their relationship has only begun recently, and that they weren’t dating prior to the break up of either of their marriages.

There’s to be a new ‘bad boy’ in Weatherfield when Lloyd’s latest love, Cheryl, discovers her Mr Nasty ex-boyfriend Chris has tracked her down.

Former Casualty actor Will Thorp will play the role of Chris and he’s already started filming for the show. We’ll first get to see him over the summer when Chris gets a job on the Street.

And according to The Sun, we’ll get to hear more about Cheryl’s past, which will lead to an “explosive” storyline.
