OMG, viewers complain about Sue Barker blowing up Go Compare singer! #getalife

I often fear for the collective sanity of Britain when I come across reports such as the one I read in the Sun today, which reveals that “a flood of viewers” have complained to TV watchdogs over the Go Compare ad which sees sporting legend Sue Barker blowing up Wynne Evans’ annoying tenor character, Gio Compario…

Seriously, do people have so little going on in their lives, and so little humour, that they A) take the ad as being anything other than a joke, and B) have the time and energy to actually lodge a formal complaint about it?

Well, apparently so because it seems the main gist of the complaints is that Sue is depicted as a terrorist. Seriously, oh my god.

The whole point of the ‘assassination’ is actually a retort to the fact that visitors to the insurance comparison website named Sue as the most irritating ad character on TV.

But honestly, do these complainants actually believe anybody is going to emulate what Sue does in the ad – which is fire a rocket propelled grenade at the über irksome singer – and we’re set to see a spate of exploding tenors?? Read more & comment »

‘Go Compare’ ad star Wynne Evans is topping classical album chart!

Voted as Most Irritating Advert in 2010, the ‘Go Compare’ ad and the accompanying singing by Gio Compario – who’s played by Wynne Evans – the large mustachioed star of the ad, grates on pretty much everyone’s nerves…

However, starring in the ad campaign has been nothing but good news for Wynne who is now topping the charts for classical album sales with his album, ‘A Song In My Heart’.

Wynne Evans paid £450,000 for Go Compare ads….if he doesn’t lose weight

Tubby Wynne Evans has landed a contract worth £450,000 to keep fronting Gocompare.com ads but bosses warned him that he must NOT lose any weight.

The Welsh opera singer shot to fame on the memorable insurance commercials and is now set to be the face of the company for another two years at least, as long as he retains his heft frame.

Off the back of the ads, Wynne has also been offered a six figure record deal with Warner Records.
