Tanya Jessop to have a really wild EastEnders night out! But is her secret now out too?

by Lynn Connolly

It’s been reported today that Tanya Jessop – who’s played by Jo Joyner – is set to go on an epic bender, which is very unlike the normally tame mum of three…

However, since learning she has cervical cancer, and last week, hearing that her friend Siobhan had died, Tanya’s been in need of a boost.

And she’s about to get one in the form of the return of her best mate Jane Beale (Laurie Brett) who of course as yet, doesn’t know about Tanya’s illness.

Digital Spy report that when Jane calls in on Tanya, the brave mum will decide not to spoil Jane’s homecoming by telling her about her illness, and instead, the pair decide to go on a good old girls’ night out…

However, Jane then has to pull out at the last minute, so instead, Tanya goes on the lash with her daughter Lauren (Jacqueline Jossa).

All goes well until Tanya – who is of course currently undergoing chemo and radio therapy – gets drunk, and shocks everyone with her lewd behaviour.

Things go from bad to worse though when the police turn up at The Vic, and Tanya mistakenly thinks one of the officers is stripper!

However, Alfie (Shane Richie) smoothes things out with the old bill, and finally persuades Lauren to take her mum home, however, by then, lots of the pub regulars are wondering what could possibly have gotten into Tanya.

Speculation is rife, with her former sister-in-law Carol Jackson (Lindsey Coulson) thinking that Tanya’s acting so badly as a reaction to missing Max, who of course left Walford when Tanya dumped him. He’s due back soon though with his big brother in tow!

But, has Tanya drunkenly revealed her secret to someone? And will that someone spread the gossip?

Find out when this episode airs on Tuesday, November 15 and is followed up in the episode which airs on Thursday, November 17 on BBC1.

In the meantime, here’s a look at the very first time Tanya – and Max – appeared in the Square…
