American songstress Taylor Swift has promised a very different sound from her new album ‘1989’ and if the tunes are anything like lead single ‘Shake It Off’ then we’re very much looking forward to what she has to offer!
The singer has a busy few months ahead, and as well as promoting her new record, she has also signed up to act as a guest mentor on The Voice USA. In a new interview she’s been teasing both tasks.
Speaking about her role on the hit reality TV show, Tay admitted that she has been inspired by Gwen Stefani for a long time and so jumped at the chance to get involved with the star, when the offer was made.
“I look up to Gwen Stefani so much because she’s continued to do her thing… I’m really excited to spend time with her.”
Swift has a lot of experience and wisdom to offer the wannabe musicians, as she’s one of the few young music stars that hasn’t fallen off the rails, after reaching the heights of fame.
She’s still making amazing music (herself…it isn’t being written for her), she hasn’t been involved in any drink or drug scandals and it seems that’s all part of the plan for the 22 hitmaker.
In the new interview with Vogue magazine, the blonde beauty said:
“Ever since I was a kid I used to watch this show, Behind the Music on VH1, where they would profile the career heights or a band and, then, why everything fell apart.
She added: “And one thing I noticed is that it’s very simple. You keep yourself in check. You keep your wits about you and you keep your head…That’s the key. This could go away in five seconds.”
Wise words from a wise lady.
The singer also teased a possible collaboration with Pharrell Williams during her chat with the magazine. Now that would be special!
Taylor Swift will release her new album ‘1989’ on October 27th and you can check out her performing her new single ‘Shake It Off’ below.
