The 1975 only released their debut album on Monday but it looks set to knock the current Number 1 Avenged Sevenfold off the top spot.

Avenged Sevenfold were crowned with their first UK Number 1 album ‘Hail To The King’ last Sunday but it doesn’t look like that will continue into this Sunday according to The Official Charts Company.

Manchester-based band The 1975 are currently in the lead in the midweek chart update with their debut album which is currently outselling its closest competitor ‘Hesitation Marks’ by Nine Inch Nails which is at Number (2) by more than two copies to one.

The 1975 who are fronted by ‘Benidorm’ star Tim Healy and Loose Women presenter Denise Welch’s son Matthew Healy have already had three Top 40 singles in the UK with ‘Chocolate’ (19), ‘The City’ (30) and ‘Sex’ (34).

It’s not good news for Avenged Sevenfold this week as they fall a staggering eight places to Number (9) in the Official Albums Chart Update.

Looking beyond Numbers 1 and 2 Rizzle Kicks are new in the chart this week with their second album ‘Roaring 20s’ which is currently at Number (3).

‘Hotel Cabana’ by Naughty Boy moves two places this week to Number (4) while Britain’s Got Talent finalists Richard And Adam are at Number (5) with their debut album ‘The Impossible Dream’.

In the Official Albums Chart Update this week there are a few new entries including Nickelodeon star Ariana Grande (above), AKA Cat Valentine from hit show Victorious with her UK debut with ‘Yours Truly’ which enters at Number (6).

Babyshambles and Peter Doherty are back in the Official Albums Chart this week with their second Top 10 album ‘Sequel To The Prequel’ which is in at Number (8).

Krept & Konan, a South London duo are in the Top 10 this week with ‘Young Kings’ which is at Number (10) going into Sunday.
