I was living there when this show was being filmed. It is a scary place believe me! The part where Malcolm is taken from the stage has been edited heavily. The truth is far worse. The camera was never knocked, Malcolm was agressivly forced from the stage by the harbour master and who later sued ITV so they couldn’t show him assaulting Malcolm. No Joke! I’m glad I don’t live there anymore.

Totally agree with Alan. Those rednecks were worryingly myopic…their family trees must be way too vertical. What happened to freedom of speech? Malcolm ruled. If there was an offensive chump in the programme it was Mike Reid.

I thought Maccolm was the best of the show, the people were scarily weird, bit like an american closed community, or like the film the wicker man. Its scary to think these type of communities exist. That butcher fancied suzanne so much, it was obviuos he couldnt believe his luck she was in his house. Excellent entertainment. Miek Reid was a miserable one though, couldnt even take being spoken to by a cameraman,now he was offensive. It will be not worth watching the next episode now Malcolms gone.
