The Channel 4 Mash Up: See preview videos of ‘The Mash Ups that didn’t happen’

by Lynn Connolly

On Monday, January 2nd, Channel 4 is celebrating its 30th birthday, and to celebrate, we’re to be treated to a ‘mash up’ in which regular C4 stars swap places…

A bit like Wife Swap but with bigger bank balances.

Anywho, ahead of the show – which airs at 6:30pm by the way – Channel 4 have released a couple of sneak peek videos of ‘the mash ups that didn’t happen’.

All will be revealed after the jump where you can see the clips…

As you’ll hear in the clips, Dave Lamb narrates One Born Every Minute, while Brendan from Coach Trip goes a bit step far with the cast from Skins.

You’ll see those videos again when the show proper airs, and you’ll also see Davina McCall and her dad becoming contestants on The Million Pound Drop, which Location Location host Phil Spencer is to present.

Phil’s Location, Location Location co-host Kirstie Allsopp will be – trying – to teach Alan Carr some of the “tricks of the property trade”. But make sure you listen Alan as you’re going to have to negotiate a house purchase later on!

In a special mash-up version of Come Dine With Me, Made in Chelsea stars Caggie, Binky, Spencer and Mark-Francis will take it in turns to host a dinner party, without any caterers or hired hands of any sort.

Plus, 8 Out of 10 Cats are set to do Countdown, which Jimmy Carr hosts while Sean Lock and Jon Richardson compete.

Elsewhere, Channel 4 News presenters Jon Snow, Cathy Newman and Krishnan Guru-Murthy, are to join Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall at River Cottage.

While speaking to the Daily Mail about the experience, Jon Snow said, “I cannot believe I skinned a rabbit. I cannot believe I ate that rabbit.

“I learnt more about foraging from a few hours with Hugh than I have learnt about the euro in a decade.

“He warned me that the long thorns that surround sloe berries may inflict a wound upon you that will go septic.

“I have the wounds. I’m still waiting …”

And if septicemia and similar fun stuff isn’t enough, there will also be sketches and a host of special guests.

Don’t miss it!
