As fans of Emmerdale will probably know, the identity of the attacker who left Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) for dead is to be revealed in the episode that airs on Thursday, January 5th.

And as we reported a while ago, it’s going to be a shock when you find out who it really was!

However, in the run up to the big reveal, the Dingle family are to be torn apart by in-fighting, and Aaron (Danny Miller) is finding it especially hard to contain his anger over who attacked his uncle Cain.

And his mum Chas (Lucy Pargeter) is also set to fly into an uncontrollable rage when, in tonight’s episodes, she finds out that Charity (Emma Atkins) saw Cain lying unconscious by the side of the road after the attack, and that she did nothing to help him…

The Sun reports that when Chas finds out what Charity did, or rather, didn’t do – in the episodes that air at 7 and 8pm tonight – she lashes out at Charity and most of the family end up involved in the fracas.

A show insider told the paper, “Chastity knows Cain Dingle is a bad egg but he is her brother and he’s Charity’s cousin as well as her ex-fiancé.”

But of course, as mentioned, the biggest drama comes as of January 5th when we find out who attacked Cain…

In the 7pm edition, Charity is determined to go ahead with plans for her wedding, despite that fact that Jai (Chris Bisson) is still under suspicion over the attack on Cain.

Meanwhile, though Chas and Hazel (Pauline Quirke) have both tried to calm Aaron down, he’s determined to cause some trouble, and heads up to Charity and Jai’s house, where he hammers on the door.

When nobody answers, he throws a brick through the window, just as a worried Lisa (Jane Cox) and Zak (Steve Halliwell) catch up with him. And while trying to pull him away, Aaron lashes out and accidentally hits Lisa in the face.

Later, a desperately worried Zak visits Cain and begs him to tell the truth about who attacked him, if only to stop Aaron getting himself into trouble on Cain’s behalf with his notions of revenge.

So, in the 8pm episode, Cain comes face-to-face with his attacker, who is soon after arrested and taken away to face the prospect of a very long time in prison!
