The Good Cook: Simon Hopkinson makes risotto alla parmigiana, tandoori chicken, Parma ham and asparagus pancakes

Award-winning food writer Simon Hopkinson continues to take cooking at home to a tantalising new level as The Good Cook continues.

He may be used to cooking in the country’s top restaurants, but Simon’s passion for creating beautiful food now revolves around home cooking – but this doesn’t have to mean laborious techniques, or overcomplicated dishes.

Tonight, Simon demonstrates how to make the tastiest risotto alla parmigiana, succulent tandoori chicken, delicious Parma ham and asparagus pancakes, a quiche Lorraine and a very simple yet impressive coffee granita.

The Good Cook is the UK’s first-ever cookery programme to use “Quick Response” codes. Audiences with QR-enabled smart phones can link directly to the recipes and ingredients featured in the programme via the BBC Food mobile website.
