The Great Comic Relief Bake Off – Claudia Winkleman, Ed Byrne, Martha Kearney, Helen Glover in final!
The Great Comic Relief Bake Off airs it’s final episode this evening, as four stars battle it out to win the cookery competition with a difference.
Mel Giedroyc is back to front this special instalment of the BBC series, as the stars take to their kitchens and bake their socks off, in a bid to be named this year’s Comic Relief Star Baker.
Cookery book queen Mary Berry and award winning Master Baker Paul Hollywood have devised all the challenges and set all the tasks and also on the show, celebrity chef Lorraine Pascal will travel to Ghana, Africa meeting some of the people who have benefited from previous Comic Relief fundraising campaigns.
The competition this evening is between Strictly Come Dancing presenter Claudia Winkleman, Irish funnyman Ed Byrne, BBC Radio 4 presenter and journalist Martha Kearney and Olympic gold medallist Helen Glover.
The stars work their fingers to the bone in an attempt to wow Mary and Paul as they are tasked with baking their very own Signature (chocolate biscuits), Technical (lemon meringue pie), and Showstopper Bakes (birthday cake).
Claudia tries to win the judges over with emotion, naming her biscuits ‘it’s the inside that counts’. Martha decides to throw together a batch of dipped chocolate biscuits (yum!), Ed tries to show some artistic flair and attempts chocolate and pistachio biscotti, and in the Showstopper round Helen goes for gold with her lemon drizzle polka dot cake.
