The Inbetweeners’ James Buckley to star in Hollywood movie, The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman

James Buckley, who of course played the role of Jay Cartwright in The Inbetweeners, is off to Hollywood where he’s to star in a new movie alongside Shia LaBeouf and Oscar-winning actress, Melissa Leo.
James – who became a dad for the first time last year when his fiancé Clair Meek gave birth to their son in October – is expected to earn a “six-figure sum” for his role in the rom-com, which is entitled, The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman.
The Sun’s TV Biz reports that James will play the role of “a druggie backpacker from Canada.”
A source close to James told the paper, “James hoped The Inbetweeners Movie would lead to bigger things — but this is pretty impressive…
“He fitted the mould of the character perfectly and was the outstanding choice. It’s a big chance to establish himself in Hollywood.”
The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman focuses on how a young man – who’s played by Shia – falls for a girl who’s played by Evan Rachel Wood…
The paper adds, “However, Evan’s character is ‘owned’ by a violent crime boss.”
Teen heart throb Zac Efron had previously been linked to the film, however, it seems he backed out late last year.
It’s expected that the film will be on general release later this year.
