Peter Davison and Sean Hughes are joined by a host of guest stars for a new series of The Last Detective.
Peter Davison ( Distant Shores, At Home With The Braithwaites, Too Good to Be True) returns to the role of offbeat detective Dangerous Davies, with Sean Hughes (Never Mind the Buzzcocks, The Commitments) as his philosophising sidekick Mod.
Emma Amos (Goodnight Sweetheart, Moving Story) plays Davies’ wife Julie. Rob Spendlove (Soldier, Soldier, A Touch of Frost), Charles De’Ath (City Central, Casualty), Billy Geraghty (Golden Hour, Maisie Raine) and Vineeta Rishi (Silver Street) star as fellow officers at Willesden Police Station, who constantly poke fun at the gentle detective.
They are joined by a host of prestigious actors in guest roles, including Kenneth Cranham (Rome, Layer Cake), Norman Pace (Hale and Pace), Alison Steadman (The Worst Week of My Life, Fat Friends), Maggie O’Neill (Mansfield Park, Shameless, Peak Practice) and Josie Lawrence (A Many Splintered Thing, Fat Friends), Jeff Rawle (Doc Martin, Drop the Dead Donkey), Celia Imrie (Kingdom, Nanny McPhee, Poirot: Taken at the Flood), Jonathan Coy (Doc Martin, Born and Bred), Jamie Bamber (Battlestar Galactica, Peak Practice), Hywel Bennett (The Final Quest, One for the Road), Roger Daltrey (The Who), Georgia Moffett (Fear, Stress and Anger, The Bill, Where The Heart Is), Anthony Valentine (The Commander, Poirot), Russ Abbott (Hotel Babylon, Marple, My Family), Roy Hudd (Coronation Street, All About George, Last of the Summer Wine), Leslie Phillips (Venus, Marple, Churchill: The Hollywood Years), Lorcan Cranitch (Trouble in Paradise, Rome, The Bill), Owen Teale (Lewis, Tsunami: The Aftermath, Torchwood) and Beth Goddard (Vital Signs, The Eustace Brothers, Gimme,Gimme,Gimme).
The show will return to ITV in May this year.
