The Originals spoilers: Claire Holt on Klaus, Rebekah relationship; “He betrayed her and she values loyalty”

by Nick Barnes

Rebekah certainly has a lot of big decisions to make in the forthcoming season of The Vampire Diaries and from casting news, we already know which way those decisions are going to go.

Claire Holt who plays the role of Rebekah on The Vampire Diaries is set to move to New Orleans with her brother, Elijah, in which she will be able to be a part of her family again. But, she is torn between New Orleans and staying in Mystic Falls.

In a new promo video that has been unveiled ahead of the premiere of both The Vampire Diaries and The Originals on October 3, Claire Holt says: “Rebekah’s relationship with Klaus has been very strained of late. He has betrayed her and she values loyalty above all else and is really hurt by him. It’s going to take a lot to mend that relationship, but I’m interest to see where it will go”.

In the video that has been released, Rebekah asks Elijah: “New Orleans? Why the bloody hell did Klaus go back there?”

Elijah tells her: “Evidently, there are witches conspiring against him”.

Rebekah continues: “You don’t suppose they found a way to kill him once and for all, do you?”

Claire Holt goes on to say that her character looks up to Elijah a lot and it’s really an “inner turmoil she’s experiencing”.

“Rebekah really looks up to Elijah and I think it’s really an inner turmoil she’s experiencing,” she says “Whether to follow Elijah and be a part of her family again or stay on her own in Mystic Falls and try to pursue the quarterback Matt!”

Elijah tells Rebekah in the promo video: “Your family need you and what choice you make now is your own”.

Of course, Rebekah won’t appear on The Originals until the second episode as she’s spending the summer with her new love interest Matt. Plus, there’s a few loose ends for her to tie up in Mystic Falls before she transitions over to The Originals and New Orleans.

The Vampire Diaries and The Originals kicks off on October 3 on The CW.
