The Vampire Diaries’ Claire Holt, who plays Rebekah in the show, has said that Julie Plec has “left the door open” as far as cross overs between both TVD and The Originals.
The Originals aired its first pilot a few weeks back and has been picked up for a full first season. The Originals is a spin-off show to the highly popular Vampire Diaries, which airs on The CW.
As fans will have seen in the season finale of The Vampire Diaries, Matt and Rebekah left for the summer, and will continue their relationship when the series returns in the fall.
However, Rebekah could be seen making the transition between both The Vampire Diaries and The Originals in the fall, as showrunner, Julie Plec has left the door open for the three main characters.
Holt told TV Guide: “Julie [Plec] as left the door open for us to have cross-overs and for each of the characters to swap between the shows.”
Meanwhile, speaking about her characters relationship with Klaus – who is her brother, she said: “She’s going to have to mend her relationship with Klaus in order to make it successful and work for her. I’m hoping Rebekah and Klaus will reconnect again because we had some fun times in the 20s”.
The Originals is set in New Orleans and will focus on three of the world’s original vampires – Klaus, Elijah and Rebekah.
Hayley will find herself pregnant with Klaus’ child and as a result, the vamp must go after her former friend, Marcel, who is now running New Orleans.
Last week, The CW premiered the first trailer for the series at its Upfronts event.
“Marcel has got everything I ever wanted: power, loyalty, family. I want what he has. I want it back…..I want to be king.” Klaus says in the video.
