Spoilers are leaking like there’s no tomorrow for the forthcoming season of The Vampire Diaries, and it hasn’t been that long since the fourth season wrapped in May.
There’s set to be a new man in Caroline’s life when she show returns to The CW later this year and as we know, Katherine is no longer a vampire – but what does that mean for her?
The fifth season of The Vampire Diaries is set to premiere later this year, along with its very own spin off in the form of The Originals.
In the season four finale, we saw that Caroline had a man exit her life in the form of Klaus as he departed to New Orleans. However, when she heads off to college a new man is set to catch her eye.
The new guy on the block is called Jesse and called to TV Fanatic: “He’s sweet, he’s charming, he’s confident… oh, and he’s a human who has understandable reasons for disliking members of the undead. So that could cause some problems down the line”.
Caroline is a vampire after all, but Katherine isn’t! As we saw in the finale of last season, Elena forced Katherine to take the cure, which stopped her from being a vampire. But what is next for Katherine? How will having the cure affect her life?
Nina Dobrev who plays both Elena and Katherine told CarterMatt that becoming human won’t affect Katherine that much. She will still have the same personality and traits, but she won’t have the perks of being a human to back her up.
Dobrev explained: “I don’t know what Katherine will change very much. She is who she is at her core. She’s a human now, no longer a vampire, but she still has the same personality and the same traits, and she’ll still be as convincing and crazy and manipulative as she always was. But she won’t have all the perks of being a vampire to help her”.
Tyler is also set to return when The Vampire Diaries returns to The CW at 8/7c on Thursday, 10 October. The Originals kicks off on Tuesday, 15 October.
