Fans of The Vampire Diaries hold on to your hats, producers of the hit CW Television Network supernatural drama have cast an actual actor to play the role of season 4 antagonist, Silas!
Silas, who was a very powerful witch before becoming the first and most dangerous vampire over 2,000 years ago, was imprisoned for 100’s of years by fellow witch Qetsiyah after she discovered his plan to turn a love interest into an immortal to be with her.
Managing to escape over a thousand years later, having been locked away with his lover murdered at the hands of Qestiyah, Silas then killed Jeremy Gilbert after draining his blood and snapping his neck, before later taking the form of Atticus Shane which he used to manipulate Bonnie into killing twelve witches to finish a powerful “expression” spell to destroy the “otherside” and as a consequence bring back all those that were trapped there and who were all supernatural in some way.
But now, after being portrayed through the eyes of others until now, the production team have decided to cast Silas his own body in the form of Scott Parks, whose most recent credit is playing a TAC team agent in the hit US drama, Homeland.
This news comes just days after we announced that Steven R McQueen is to make a cameo appearance in The Vampire Diaries before the end of season four next month.
The actor, 24, who played Jeremy Gilbert in the paranormal drama, made his departure from the show in February after his character was killed by vampire Silas.
And while exact details of Steven’s return are yet to be announced, he will appear in one of the final five episodes of season four yet to air, according to TVLine.
Season four of The Vampire Diaries will end on May 16 in the US and in the UK it airs on ITV2 at 9pm on Tuesdays.
