The Walking Dead showrunner excited for fourth season
Scott Gimple has revealed he’s excited to be named as the new showrunner of The Walking Dead and is looking forward to working on the fourth season.
The writer has been on the show’s staff since the second series but he will now head up the writing team and will also be named as an executive producer when production begins in May.
On his new job, Scott said in a statement: “I’m thrilled to continue the tradition of the spectacular, cinematic, horrifying, exciting and emotional storytelling of The Walking Dead.
“Over the past two years, it’s been an incredible privilege making such great television with the best cast and crew I’ve ever worked with – I can’t wait to make some more.”
And executive producer Robert Kirkman also spoke highly of Scott saying that he has been a brilliant part of the show since he joined the team.
He said: “Scott has been an essential part of this show since the day he came on board at the very beginning of season two.
“He’s contributed to guiding this show in a substantial way that has resulted in a lot of the key scenes and storylines fans have dubbed signature moments of The Walking Dead.”
The Walking Dead is shown in America on Sundays on AMC and in the UK on Fridays on FOX.
